have a take on the game itself or the state of the game, but leave personal comments off the record. I don't even mind if someone says "he was a douche for doing that" in reference to a hit or whatevs, but to just come out in the off season or whenever and start making comments is like a cry for attention.

essentially what chadd said-- heat of the moment comments are kind of expected to a certain degree, we all know the emotion that goes through our system during competition, but anything removed from that is, like I said, a desperate reach for attention.

I love them, and I do believe Drew would agree with me. More stripes are always better... until you get to the Canadiens throw backs.

It actually may have looked good when they were really sweaters and didn't wear padding and such, but this is definitely not going to look good with modern gear.

The winter classic had better make up for it...

How much did you shell out for them? I heard there was something like a $20 processing fee.

I am not a STH for the Pens :( I have read on pens message boards that STH were paying about 140 for them plus some type of ridculous fee as you are talking about. I paid more than that of course but still feel that if I wanted to I could flip them for a profit closer to the game, albeit not a very large one.

I'm in section 506 but I plan on watching the game from the rotunda I'm thinkin. At any rate I just want to be inside the stadium, so I'm satisfied. Still trying to find 2 more or potentially sell mine so I can get 4 in a row.

Being a Pens fan of course I love it and as I may not think they deserve it more over other teams it is what it is. Fact of that matter is that it will always gravitate towards the more popular teams. I'm sure the Hawks and the Wings will get another chance too in the coming years and we will hear more complaints as well. I read the first nine pages and yeah Stamkos is a up and coming star and the kid is really good but that's the thing he hasn't got his name out there yet. Let's face it, until the NHL is back on ESPN or another major TV station it'll only be those big names that squeak through to the casual fans. I'm an avid follower of hockey and enjoy watching players on every team but the fact of the matter is the Pens and the Caps are loaded with talent and will hopefully bring us a very entertaining game. Gotta be real for a minute, it'll never be about the real fans because we are too few-an-far between. As much as I hate it hockey just isn't super popular on a national scale. I mean I hate baseball and basketball, so yeah.

I cant wait for this game. Its going to be a heck of a game! Caps/Pens is the best rivalry in the NHL right now and its going to be a great way for the NHL to showcase itself and hopefully win some new fans.

I'll be in NE Wisconsin that weekend on a snowmobiling trip, but I'll definetly be watching that game!

Yeah I think calling it the best rivalry is pretty much open to debate and interpretation. Especially since it was basically concocted by the media.

Best franchises? I can't see how anyone would actually agree with that. Both were having serious problems just a few years ago and you don't become one of the "best franchises" in a couple years. Especially with the playoff "success" that the Caps have had.

Two most heavily marketed franchises right now, I will give you.
