I think they need to get Stamkos in this game. Problem is , he doesnt have a personal rivalry and Tampa has no historic team rivalry. So the best bet to get him in it, is to have him play the Rangers in Yankee Stadium.

It will not be any canadian team. for a few reasons. 1) hockey doesnt need marketed in canada and thats the whole point of the WC , to promote hockey in the states. 2) starting this yr , they will have a canadian game , with two canadian teams , on an annual basis. 3 ) americans want pomp and circumstance. something they can sell/buy. probably 1/3 of the u.s. viewers didnt tune in for the game itself , they tuned in for sid/ovie. kind of a " lets see who really is better" kind of thing .Then hopefully a few of them actually liked the game and got hooked. And as we speak those people are out buying gear right now , signing themselves and more importantly , thir kids up to play.

The league could market the southern sniper ( stamkos ), going into yankee stadium , to try and take over the big apple. Myself , i wish minnisota had that big super star. Then have minnissota plaing the rangers. But either way , i believe the next game will be in NYC. I just hope Stamkos (TB) gets put in it as well.

Despite the weather, the WC was everything that they hyped it up to be. It was a hard-fought game between 2 teams who dont like each other very much and in the end, it boiled down to the fact that the Caps wanted it more than the Pens did.

The only real downer (other than the weather) was that the 2 stars who this game was hyped up to be a showdown between, didnt make much of an impact. Crosby didnt make much of a contribution and other than Ovi's glass-breaking check in the early part of the game, he didnt do much either.

Omark IS playing in the states right now, which would meet the criteria of BOTH teams being from the U.S...............oklahoma city oil barons. I dont think thats a marketable superstar.......yet

Scheduling is going to be an issue with Yankee Stadium. The Pinstripe Bowl is being help at Yankee Stadium for at least the next 3 years. Depending on when the bowl game is scheduled, it might now be possible to have the ice ready by New Year's Day.

Squaw valley would be awesome (i'd be there in a heartbeat). Central Park would be even more awesome-er.

IMO, its time that Minnesota got the chance to host a WC. Perhaps they could host Vancouver since those two teams seem to hate each other.

I agree, but the problem is Minnesota doesn't have national appeal, and they're a boring team. I definitely think New York needs to host the WC next, so off the top of my head for teams to face the Rangers I'm thinking Kings, Lightning, or Avs. If I had to see a repeat team in there then I'd pick either Detroit or Chicago over Boston/Philly.

Once again . A Canadian team will NOT be put in the winter classic because theyre having their own now. Montreal / Calgary this yr. But i agree with you , Minnisota has awesome hockey fans and they deserve a WC. Its just gonna be a few years.

I'm all for Minnesota. Closest thing to Canada in the States. Seriously, that is what we Canadians think of as a hockey state. Minnesota, Michigan, and North Dakota. Likely only because they are cold as shit.
