CCM U+ CL Skate

Woohsah. Woohsah. I swear where appropriate, where things are either misread or taken out of context. Read my posts from that last page... only where I was being misread did I cuss in it, bc it really does piss me off. Having my ideas, thoughts and words misrepresented or something is by far my biggest pet peeve. Even at level headed moments (ie right now) I seem to off as a dick.

I ds gets what I was saying.... seb talks about visual. I explain identical visual, and Jr proved me wrong from what I saw, so take what I just said with a grain of salt. So then chad says not this shit again, and it pissed me off pretty hardcore bc its not that shit again. So I explained myself and ds understood now what I was trying to say. I've tried to and have been working on controlling what I say, you know this. I say fuck once and you are saying I'm still swearing constantly.... if you want go ahead and filter my posts or block me from posting I really don't care. As long as I can lurk and still have access to buy sell I don't care.

I don't want you swearing, PERIOD.

That is what I am trying to tell you. There isn't an "appropriate" time to swear on a message board. You can state your point, or gripe, without using profanity.

And look, Chadd said "crap."

No, mod approval is a chore, I'd rather not do it. Bans are easier. ;)

The store I work at got in a Display setup with this skate. I really do like the way it looks, very sharp. Like previously stated it is not "crazy light" although of course not heavy. The skate was an 8d and I normally take 8.5e but tried it on anyways. For sure I needed a bigger size but still felt really nice in my opinion. My heel was locked in just awesome with this skate. Only negative aspect about the fit was it seemed really tight around my ankle for only being a half size too small. If I didn't break the holder on my current skate I would of held off ordering my one100's until I could try these on in my proper size.

[is is me or do these look like an updated Vapor XX / XXX? I'm still rocking the XX's which have been ready for an upgrade I've just been cheap and Lazy. I thought that I was going to only look at the One80 and Vapor 40 or 50. Now I'll be able to throw in the U+ 12 into the mix.

We received some U+CL skates today. The surprise is that CCM put Rocket Runners in the box for free!! They must have a lot of them to get rid of. Well, this is one way to do it. They are not in the U+12 boxes.

Anyone who doesn't want their Rockets, I'll take them off your hands. We still sell them like crazy. They are a great product. Too bad that poor sharpeners gave them a poor rep as they are the best steel for holding an edge out there right now. I'd consider it a great bonus.

Our U12 boxes didn't have them either.

I just got my pair of U+ CLs on Saturday. (I live in PA but I drove about an hour to the new MonkeySports Superstore in Jersey to get them. And lucky me everything in the store was 15% off, including my skates, due to grand opening!)

Have not skated in them yet, will post feedback as soon as I do.

As far as initial fit impressions they are more comfortable around the forefoot then my U+ Pro Reloadeds (not as tight and square) and the tongue is absolutely awesome on the CL's. The CL's also seem to lock in the heel better and have more heel padding in general then the Reloadeds but it is hard to tell how good the heel lock is until i actually get them out on the ice.

As far as the weight they are definately not "crazy light" by any means, the TotalOnes/One100/S17 are all noticably lighter and i think the original U+ Pro Reloaded skates were even a bit lighter to tell you the truth. They are not heavy by any means (still lighter then any Graf or RBK 11k) but weight wise they dont live up to the "CL" the way the U+ CL OPS did.

And yeah they did come with a set of rocket runners in the box which is pretty cool I thought.

ugly holder, ugly boot, ugly logo

bring Tacks 652 back!

Ugly holder? Seriously?

Besides, the 652 was the less attractive older sister of the 752 (also known as the greatest skate ever made).

Does anyone know if you can buy just the boots? I know at Total you can buy skates and have the holders/steel switched and you pay the difference or they give you the difference back. I was wondering if you could by the CCM skates and get the holders taken off and get the money back from them? I'm putting Tuuks on them so the holders/steel will be useless to me that's why I ask.

i think you can order without holders only if you go custom. won't hurt to ask, but dont bet on saving any mor than $20-$25.

ugly holder, ugly boot, ugly logo

bring Tacks 652 back!

Old 652 Tacks had probably the ugliest holder ever made (Pro-Lite III). And the boot (classic, yes) was not exactly the coolest looking thing either. As for the logo, its a logo, how "ugly" can it really be?

I know everyone loves old tacks on this board but seriously, to say that visually a pair of 652s look better then the CL's is just rediculous.

The SLM holder on Tacks in early 90s wins "Ugliest Holder Ever" hands down.

Indeed the 752 instapump kevlar was a hell of a skate, when it came out.

Agreed the E-pro is among the ugliest holder, the slm looked actually perfect on the tacks.. not to mention that if you set apart the kid versions, the 6000 was a solid holder.

The SLM holder was definately not bad looking at all. WAY better then the Pro Lite III (which was hideous).

I personally dont think the E Pro holder is bad looking at all though.
