Favorite Bauer Helmet?

Recommended Posts

I'm due for a new bucket and went to Pro Hockey Life last week to find that Bauer (my comp of choice)now has a bunch of helmet models. I really don't know which one to get.

Have a really beat up 4500 right now (and have been wearing since 2003). Tell me what Bauer helmet is your favorite and why. Thanks fellas!

5100 because it fits me better than the 4500 but has similar padding and the 7500 because it is super comfy and has good ventilation, but everyone has different heads and different helmets fit people differently. If you like the 4500 you should stick with it, but if you want to change it up and get something similar I'd suggests the 5100.

I've used the 5000/5500 for about 10 years and it's my favorite for sure but the past 2 years I have been switching back and forth between that and the 4500. The 5500 is my fav cause of the way it looks and it feels great on your head, way better then the 4500. My buddy has the 9900 and he loves it and I guess it is more comfortable and probably offers a lil more protection.

4500 for me. I've been wearing it since the original Cooper HH3000 went into production. It is the only helmet that fits my head perfectly. I've tried on all other bauer helmets, and even some CCM/RBY ones. But I can't change out of the 4500 fit. I'll hate the day when Bauer announces they will stop production on them, which is very unlikely.

I have a larger cranium (7.5 size fitted hats), so the Bauer 4500 XL is perfect for me. Comfort, weight, durability, protection, and aesthetics. Been using it for a few seasons and have no complaints.

My 9500 is light, protective, and well-ventilated. Best helmet I've used.

I'm not sure about the differences between that and the 9900.

I love the 7500. Great fitting helmet for myself, with top end features, and reasonably priced. The 9900 fits me well also but it's hard to stomach the price tag.

8500 for comfort

4500 for looks

7500 for both

never tried on the 9500/9900/5100 for some reason, but it thinks it looks good

My 4500 cracked where I attached my visor. I got a 5100 and it seems pretty comparable to the 4500 for fit, at least on my mellon.

+1 for trying them on. I found through trial and error that I just don't have an Easton head.

I gotta say, that I love the 8500. I know that some say it doesn't pass the "mirror test", but it's light and very adjustable so I love it. I've had the 8500, 5500 and 4500.

I've been using the 9500 since this summer and love it. The occipital lock feature allows me to get a great fit. Some places have it on close out but you shouldn't skimp when it comes to buying a good helmet.

8500 is working great for me. I have a small head and the fit dials in perfectly. Comfy and well ventilated too, IMHO.
