Yeah, the rep I had talked to said that they're just introducing a new helmet. I'm not sue if Im allowed to talk about it at all though.

It'll be out next year. Notice all I have said is that there is a new helmet, not how it fits or looks or what the specs are, and I know these things. That should tell ya. ;)

What about the 5000/5500/7500 line? Thanks.

Staying.

Is there going to be a replacement of the 9900? I'd love to get a 9900 for less than it is now!

Honestly, the 9900 is one of the few buckets I believe is fully worth the cost. Then again, it also has the best fit I've ever felt so.

But I'm with you, wouldn't mind a little less of a kick to the wallet.

Last year alot of players were getting broken hands from blocked shots.

Someone in the Rangers org told the equipment manager to bulk up all the gloves with extra padding.

All Rangers and CT Whale players are required to wear those pads on their gloves. Underneath the cloth material is a honeycomb style shock absorbing material very similar to whats in the Cascade helmets.

I also noticed when i enlarged the picture he was wearing 2 shells (or a shell on top of a regular pant) Anyone know why?

Most likely his regular pant is something that doesn't match the team's color scheme.

It appears Brad Richards isn't wearing the hand pad.

I think this is probably my favourite goalie mask ever. And just for fun, here's a crisper/better version of the pic you already posted:
