DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted February 12, 2012 In June 2005, I was at a Bauer Product event in Quebec. During one of the presentations there was a slide presented showing a post from Mod Squad Hockey about if the vendors would stay true to hockey. I made a note of it and wrote down Mod Squad Hockey. About a month later I was going over my notes from the meeting. I saw Mod Squad Hockey and thought it had something to do directly with Bauer. I looked on Bauer.com but couldn't find anything. I googled MSH and the rest is history for me. I never bothered to even look for another hockey specific message board. This is a great community of members with great passion and knowledge for all things hockey. That is how I "found" Mod Squad Hockey. How did you "find" Mod Squad Hockey? fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted February 12, 2012 I wanted to find out more about hockey gear, as my hometown team normally looked to me to recommend what was good in terms of protections etc. Bear in mind that these guys would use their gear till it reeked and rotted before changing it, creatures of habit I would say.Found MSH, joined up and the wealth of information started to really flow thru. Over the years I've met and gotten to know quite a number of the MSH community, unfortunately due to geographical restrictions I dont get to participate in any of the events that are normally held, but obviously it is something I would love to partake in. Vinny_R 1 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Googled something like '' Worst hockey equipment ever'' to build an awful stock to make laugh my friend when we go to free ice time then I saw MSH, started to read post and tought that this board isn't like the others. Lot of respect, no beef and you can ask a question and nobody will call you idiot, newby or other names. Probably the only board I'm in and never got called frog or stupid french. This place is awesome!

gerbe3:16 19 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 A few years ago I had started into hockey again and was over at the Pure Hockey sale when they had the SMU Inno Maniacs. I had purchased one and googled it to find out about it because for the price it was an awesome stick. Googling "Inno Maniac" at the time brought me right to this board. And then I was hooked...MSH is like frickin crack...

AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 I believe I started at HF Boards on The Rink section and came across MSH. In terms of learning, I've come a tremendously long way and the people here (especially the mods) have taught me almost everything I know. I understand that I would not be where I am today in terms of a job without MSH and I also firmly believe that MSH will be a springboard for a hopeful future career in the industry.Cheers to that. Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 When I had the Salming line, I think a friend of mine sent me a link from the HF Boards that mentioned a Salming stick. That led me to Google "Salming" and see what else popped up. Either I found a hit on MSH, or I looked for "hockey message boards" to see if there were any other places to discuss hockey. At that point, I signed up as a member. And did nothing for six months. Then in May of 2005, I was displaying at the Chowder Cup in New England when Chippa struck up a conversation with me. He suggested I go on the MSH boards. While we were talking, I realized I had been on the board before, but told him I recalled vendors weren't allowed to sell on MSH; he said they weren't, but it was okay to discuss the attributes of the products. So I started participating, and the rest is history, as in shortly thereafter, Salming made me history! But I've made friends here, as well as have jawed with Chippa about whether he's being too pessimistic about the Bruins or I'm being too optimistic. In other words, whether he's a true New Englander or I'm just a carpetbagger at this point.....
