How did you "find" Mod Squad Hockey?

I stumbled across Core Beam (the board that existed prior to MSH...the guys that broke off to start this were all Mods there, hence the name 'Mod Squad Hockey') via a google searach, if I recall. That board was on it's way out as this one started. I migrated over in 2004 with many other former CB users.

I started out on the Easton board and then suddenly I was like, "where the f--- did everyone go?" and found the Corebeam site a few months later. Then, I was like, "where the f--- did everyone go again?" and stumbled onto Modsquad a few months after that. When I look at it this way, maybe people were hinting at something.

I remember seeing the Ostick for the first time and telling my friend that RBK had a stick with holes in it, he didn't believe me so I googled RBK o-stick and the first result was the MSH catalogue. Been here ever since.

I found ModSquad when doing research on skates since my prior experience years earlier wasn't very good. What drew me to become a member, though - as I often scour boards when doing research on something but *rarely* ever register on any forums to participate - was the incredible level of knowledge contained in the posts here, and more importantly, the attitude and temperament of the membership. Very, very different from what I had perceived hockey fanatics to be like. Very welcoming and tolerant of my ignorance, essentially no "dude, your g@y" or "dat shits cool" type kiddie postings and a smart crowd with a laid-back and courteous attitude. I've met some great people here, and have a trusted LHS now.

If you attempt to Google any kind of gear wisdom, at least one of the first page links will take you to an MSH thread.

Before the internet you'd have to hang out at your LHS for a decade to learn what you can learn from lurking this board for a month.

I came across this site by accident 4 years ago. Best hockey site I have ever read. I don't get a lot of hockey info down here in Alabama.

I spend 2 weeks at my family's cabin in Brainerd, Mn every other summer. So the only

real hockey info I get is at MJ's in Brainerd, and MSH.
