Would you trust? (Easton RS OPS)

Found an Easton RS which apparently has a 'Paint Defect'

So the Easton logo is upside down & the textured area looks a little odd when compared to the Easton stock image

Could this be a repaint? I'm put off a little by the entire blade being different!

It's kind of weird that the blade design is upside down, but it's probably purely cosmetic. Is it discounted? If it was cheap, I'd snag it. Once you tape it you'll never see that anyway.

Yep it's cheaper than you'd usually expect. But that might be for a reason - IE it's a repaint

From my experience if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

Well, honestly, to me it seems like a manufacturing defect more than anything. I'm not really sure how to tell whether or not it's a total repaint, but to me it just looks like an RS with the blade design upside down. Seems like an odd thing to screw up on a repaint.

like it says, it looks like its a RH stick that got painted in the LH mold. take a pic of the taper, or remove the en cap and check if t says anything on the inside. if its iscounted at a good price, why wouldn't you snag it?

im i the only one here who noticed that the weave in the blade is slightly different than a normal rs? also the elliptical taper should be matted.. grip or not that part has a matte finish...

i noticed that as well, i broke my last one awhile ago but it didnt look right

No need to make up hypothetical scenarios, there is the info straight from the manufacturer. Be very careful buying these on eBay or anywhere other than a verified retailer.

Wow, that's crazy. Counterfeiters are really stepping up their game. Seeing the detail that went into this one is really an eye opener.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have one of these back at the office. In a lot of ways it's easy to tell it's a fake right out of the gate. But hats off to whoever spent the time and effort to knock it off as there are a lot of things on there that look right and it has the ability to visually fake out quite a few players. There are issues with the shape of the curve, weight of the stick, durability and performance. The decals on the one shown are backwards because they are the RH version on a LH stick. Our sample was the same. Chances are they only have one set of decals and are applying to both hands. You have always been able to find quite a few deals out there on products but now you need to be careful of where and who you are buying these from. It's a new issue but one that will keep coming up. Let us know if you have any questions. We will be pursuing this vigorously to try and prevent these from getting to the market in the future.

Wow that's pretty awesome that Easton is on here :)

That's an INCREDIBLE fake stick... imagine if you were RH? You'd probably never have noticed.

Unfortunately, with the retail costs of high end sticks in the $200 range, I'm sure it makes it more attractive for unscrupulous folks out there to get into the counterfeit game with sticks. I'm betting people will stumble onto more fake sticks in the future.
