If any of you work for a shop....could you see kids paying more for a V130 than a Stealth or XN10. I dont...

We didnt bother with them either. All of their stuff is over-priced for what it is.

CCM and their affiliate stick companies are shit when it comes to composite sticks. Heck, even their woodies are garbage, I cut them off right after I was ripped off when I bought a Groovelite. 79.99CAD for it and it broke in 2 games. It had a warranty, they said it was not a manufacturers defect. Screw them.

Every friend of mine that plays in the AHL or the ECHL says the deal is killing them. The sticks are terrible (revolution, rbk and vectors combined) and making a guy have to use one is bullshit when they are not comfortable with them. Would MLB make a deal with a bat company that produced the 4th or 5th most popular bat??

Another thing I found interesting is that they have to switch their under equipment to THC gear as well........ all the guys on the Fresno Falcons had to switch to new shouldies. Some of them have been wearing the same ones for up to 10 years.

i liked the v110 sticks. i think ccm has a great selection of curves, although the lies on them are a little on the high side for me. but every person i've came across that has had a v110 said they loved it and it lasted them for years. if they lack in performance, then they certainly make it up in durability. i've only known one person who has had a v120, and it broke in a week at a qmjhl training camp, and personally i didn't like them either. i'm interested in the new v130, and if it can hold up like the old v110's, then i may grab one

If I was good and played there (which I am not) - I would use one of their shafts and throw in a wood blade. CCM can't mess up shafts that bad can they? There has to be something decent between the Vector, Koho, and Rbk shafts right?

I liked the KOHO OPS, nice blades but the shaft was too thick.

I take back everything i said about it,my friend held one and they said it was awsome but the grip was like the v120 but a lil tacky. I loved my v110 and if its like it i might to get one.

No offense, but how do you go from hating the stick to liking it based on what someone else said?

I mean did you even try it yourself?

Langenbrunner - Just wait and give an opinion then, you cannot tell what you will feel about it by looks or others. Everyone has their own opinion on products.

My V110 shaft is one of the best shafts I've used, plus it's a tank. Koho still make some pretty good wood sticks and blades (though their retail curves don't so much for me), and as these guys can probably get whatever curve they want, they shouldn't have too many problems getting a good set-up. It's all well and good saying that the players should have the right to use whatever gear they want, but the minor league teams are businesses too (just like the NHL, and look how well that's doing!), so you can see why they'd go for this. Cost certainty on sticks has to be a big incentive with the rate these guys go through OPS's. The protective gear they're being given is the best in the business (Jofa) so safety and performance aren't an issue, so to me it sounds a little like some players are a little precious. If a player can't play as well in the new gear - well the gear is just a tool, and you kow what kind a craftsman blames his tools...

AHL yes, but in the ECHL they are only given the patterns that come stock retail.

Perhaps a medicore player in a rec league wont notice much difference performance wise in various ops, but professionals do and they arent happy about using a basically inferior product.

If they are paid for their craft should they not chose or have choice in tools?? I and most others realize its a dollar decision but players made to use something they would prefer not to can be bothersome.

As for protective gear, when you use something since junior and then are made to switch it can affect you. Its about player comfort and that can influence anyone.

Again it all comes back to business. The deal is for the business and not the players.

I saw the v130 last night. The blade is now a normal composite type blade and not the ABS blade that they had on earlier models. The blade on the one I saw was a little thick compared to others. But the grip and the feel of the stick was nice. I would give the stick a try on the next go round myself. And the color scheme looks much better than that nasty orange and blue w/sparkles they had last year. The only draw back of course appeared to be the price.

Thank God. The V110 blade pretty much turned me off to CCM for awhile. Maybe the V130 will, in my eyes, redeem the Vectors.

...When the Synergy was first released, I laughed and told myself that I would never, ever spend $150 on a stick. Now, many years later, I have tried almost every OPS to hit the market (most of which I owned more than one of).

Still, I probably won't bother to try the V130.
