True, but for the big online stores, they get huge volume shipping discounts compared to us peons. Plus many of them use fullfillment centers in each region, so for example if the store is located in Calif, and you live in Boston, the item might be shipped from a warehouse center near Boston. The shipping costs in this case are minimal and often the $3.95 handling charge they charge us, well that covers the shipping cost

None of the larger hockey retailers will ship their products to Australia, which makes me sad... our gear here is so ridiculously expensive compared to everyone else's :(

Icewarehouse is where I mostly get my gear. Free shipping over $50 plus member discount of 10%(although I think its 15% right now) makes it a great deal.

I usually get a shipping confirmation within an hour. With them being located in Cali, I can usually order until 6 or so my time, and still get it shipped out the same day.

ive always been happy with ice warehouse too. you gotta buy like a tshirt in order to be part of their 10 percent of iwin membership, but they are reasonably priced, made in the usa by american apparel, quality shirts around 10 bucks, if i remember correctly. its definitely a solid purchase, and great company in terms of dealing with them and asking questions. they have the quickest turn around time on questions out of any retailer i have dealt with.

I've had great luck with IW recently. I, too, joined the club ($10 t-shirt) and got 15% off with the current deal. I've made two separate orders within the last two weeks, including one return and re-order (wrong size, my mistake, not theirs), and they've been fantastic, including price-matching an item from another site. The free shipping over $50 deal is wonderful! Downside is it's a good 4-5 day's wait for it to be shipped here. Not their fault though.

I though about joining, but it obviously doesn't apply to MAP restricted items, so generally it doesn't do anything for me. <br /><br />Then again, it's a $10 tshirt with occasionally useful added benefits.<br /><br />It's free overnight shipping here, so that doesn't really factor in the decision of whether to join or not.<br /><br />I might as well...
