I'm kinda curious about absinthe but some of the stories make me untrusting of it. I like the feeling of being buzzed but being piss drunk on the other hand is crappy... and I'm not sure whether I'd want to waste my time and/or money on it. I know I won't waste my time and money on other illegal drugs(yes, alcohol is a drug) but for some reason I'm not so clear in my feelings with absinthe.

I would say it's more hype than anything but there may be some 'true' form of it out there. Like dixor touched on, some places substitute alcohol for weak wormwood and so it's kind of a crapshoot of what you're going to get. I don't know, I'm not a fan of licorice and at best that is what it's going to taste like. I'm not into anything mind-altering either, but just don't see its attraction.

I heard that the old-american absinthe was a very relaxing type of reaction. I don't know, but it sounds interesting. I'm sure that it's probably just hype but it would be interesting to try.

I definitely am interested in trying it... but I want the mind altering stuff where I'll see green fairies.

If you go to San Francisco today, St Patrick's Day, I'm sure you'll see all you want.

Not that kind of green fairy.. besides, Laguna Beach is close enough that I don't need to go up there.

My brother-in-law used to live in Laguna Niguel. One of the most awesome places I have ever seen. But he must have been one of the few straight guys in the whole valley.

I must say tonight I discovered that Dissarono and Coco-Cola mixed tastes like Cherry Coke which is wonderful.

Whiskey wise, my uncle's brother is the guy that makes Forty Creek whiskey. Good stuff if you get the chance to try it.

Beer:

Leinenkugel's Original

Löwenbräu

Carlsberg

Koff (Finnish beer)

Molson

Liquor:

Tito's Vodka

Rob Roy Scotch

Peppermint Schnapps

Koff isn't a world-class beer by any means, but I have a lot of memories from studying abroad with it, and that's when I started playing hockey :D

One of my buddies turned me on to this drink. Called a Lusk after one of his graduated fraternity brothers.

1:1:1 Jim Beam, Southern Comfort 100, Triple Sec

Fill with orange juice, dash of grenadine.

Tastes amazing and a $5 large glass at the bar has 5-6 "shots" in it.

I also recently got turned on to Scotch and ginger ale. I have a bottle of 12 year Macallan, and mixed with Vernor's makes a big tall carbonated scotch. It tasted really good, but I'm not sure how fast I want to go through a $50 bottle of single malt.

I agree with what was said about Grey Goose a page ago. A friend had a bottle at a party and I asked to try it. I hate cheap liquor, even when mixed, and I about spat it out. I'll take Stoli or VanGough over Goose.

For beer, my fridge will usually have some Leinenkugel's, Labatt Blue /light, High-Life or some other cheap domestic.

Being a hockey player of course i love Labatt Blue and Molson. But my favorite has got to be either Guinness or Corona.

I'm pumped for this weekend though, I'm turning 19 so I am taking a trip to Canada :D

Had some Midleton at dinner last night but as much as I love it, I won't pony up the price for a fifth.

triple pornstar. I know its a chick drink but god damn they are good.

I'll admit that Smirnoff Ice, Bacardi's flavored drinks, Mike's Hards, hard ciders, etc are all pretty good. Some are technically beer, even though most people consider them today's wine coolers and for chicks only.

I make sure to pick up a case when I make a larger booze run so it looks like I'm stocking a party and not just getting myself some fruity deliciousness.
