strosedefence34 175 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 Has anyone ever used the grippy undershirts that are out there? I know Bauer has one with 37.5 tech in it http://www.icewarehouse.com/Bauer_NG_375_Premium_Perf_L_S_Grip_Hockey_Shirt_Sr/descpage-BNPLS.html and Under Amour has a few too http://www.icewarehouse.com/Under_Armour_Gameday_Armour_L_S_Grip_Hockey_Shirt_Sr/descpage-UAGDS.html . Just wondering if people find it helps keep their elbow pads in place.
vinprun71 61 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 I have a Bauer undershirt that has grip on the elbows. While the pad doesn't slide on the shirt itself, the pad can shift with the shirt. So in essence, it prevents pad on shirt slippage, but not necessarily the shirt from shifting with the pad. I hope that makes sense.
Hills 717 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 I have the UA Purestrike and it does help with keeping the elbow pads in place. I think if they slide a little bit you'll be fine, but if they basically fall off it won't help much. http://www.icewarehouse.com/Under_Armour_Purestrike_Grippy_Comp_L_S_Hockey_Shirt_Sr/descpage-1258585.html
IPv6Freely 2096 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 I definitely liked the Bauer 37.5. Held the elbows well, and also obviously benefited from the 37.5.

I have similar experience with my 37.5 long sleeved shirt. its mostly noticeable when I use my lower end fit05 elbows but happens on occasion with my rbzs as well. with my fit05, even a shooting motion can at times make my elbow shift a bit with the long sleeves. ive since found preference for their short sleeved shirt as I have less issues with shifting that way. xstartxtodayx 343 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 There was another thread like this and someone mentioned a Shock Doctor shirt with longer sleeves that wrap back over the bottom of your elbow pads. I went ahead and ordered one for myself and must say it's the best invention I've seen... I have skinny arms and always seemed to fidgit with my pads throughout the game, with this shirt I no longer do that and they feel great. Aside from that the shirt breathes real well and is very comfortable. This is the shirt here: http://www.icewarehouse.com/Shock_Doctor_Core_Comp_Performance_Grip_Hockey_Shirt_Sr/descpage-SDCHS.html If you shop around you can find it for less, I managed to find one on sale at HM and was able to use a coupon on top of that which brought it closer to $30. Holmes_D_83 27 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 I have the under armour version, what also helps is to roll the end of sleeve back up over the cuff of your elbow pad.

If you like tight fit Under Armour style, CCM's new bulletin line is excellent as well.
LoneStar77 25 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 I've got 2 for Under Armour that I really like - long sleeve with the grip print on the chest, & elbows - plus vents in the armpits & down the center of your back (it is gray with orange grip). I just ordered a Shock Doctor shirt with the elbow lock feature & mine has pads built into the sides for a little extra rib protection - I plan on using it Friday night for my league game to try it out for the first time. strosedefence34 175 Report post Posted September 30, 2016 Thanks for the responses guys. I played last night I think its a combo of the shirt I am using shifting and the elbow pads moving around a little. I need to play around with the strapping on my Surgeons to get them right. I will probably try the Bauer 37.5 shirt. I have the pants already, and really like them. I don't like compression tops so those are out. I used to play in short sleeves, but this one rink I play at in the winter gets so cold you hardly break a sweat which is when I started using long pants and a long top. That next summer league I went back to short sleeves for a game, and everything felt all off so I have been in long sleeves ever since.
