No More Vector Skates?

Recommended Posts

What the heck was "Externo"? Just a name for another skate line?

yea they were ccm's answer to the bauer vapors a few years back, they were really stiff, and pretty heavy. If you look at ccm vector skates the chasis is on them is called externo still, so i guess one good thing came out of them for ccm

It's basically the same holder that was on the Koho skates.

The Excalibur!!

Yes...the skate went from Koho 3360 to Koho Ultimate to CCM Externo to CCM Vector to RBK.

And yes, they are going with the RPL E-blade system.

That figures. I did'nt think I could go wrong with the 04' Pro Tacks (someone please give me positive reinforcement) . I like the idea of the lace lock, but I hope the money I saved will outweigh the small changes. BTW JR, are they going with the E holders like on the Vector?

The Pro Tacks have been a great skate for me; I've been on them for almost 2 years at a couple of times a week with the only problem being a brief bout with lace bite on 1 foot. Provided the fit is right, at $219 you would be hard pressed to find a better deal (except maybe the Bauer Classic Golds for $179).

man i wish they wouldn't get rid of the vectors, i love my 6's too much to wear any other skate, besides maybe the ZG 110 which i wanted to try some time, but man...would RbK keep the same skates, just put their logo on it like they are doing with the Jofa equipment??

I picked up my E-60's for $90 from a store that was blowing them out. It was about the same as it would have cost for me to replace the steel on my 2 year old E-50's and get them radiused.

Its not like the Vectors were great skates anyway. Gimme S500's anyday of the week over them. I hope the RBK line's quality holds up better then that of the Vapor line also.

I can understand your point LickerLongTail but some peoples feet only fit into CCM skates, so this is a pretty big blow to them.

your right....i can't fit bauer...only CCM!!! :(

My understanding is the Tack line goes away and Reebock line takes over. The Vectors stay.

BTW, I sell Vectors 10 to 1 over ANY other skate. The 6.0 is the best selling in the Sr category, and the 5.0 in the Jr. IMO, it's a great skate line, beats all others hands down. Sorry to say, I never have a request for a Mission, and Eastons requests are rare too.

No theres a whole new tack line for 2006, Vectors are replaced by RBK's. The RBK's are essentially different colored Vector with different logos.

i wouldn't say that the missions have held up that well either. my brothers only a small guy, maybe 5'5 120lbs, playing bantam aaa, and is on his 2nd pair of s400's in just 3-4 months...maybe the s500s are better, but the boots are ripped to pieces on him

Stix04, are you sure about a new Tack line for next year? They've redone the line for this year, and CCM have been going two years per update for a while now, so you wouldn't expect a new Tack line until '07 after this years' one.

I'd expect the Vectors to either change next year or be dropped in favour of the Rbk line, but I can't see the Tacks line ending any time soon. Still, stranger things have happened...

You're correct thunderbirds. The tack line has been redone and E-blades have been put inplace of the Pro-lites. Also the Pro Tack is totally redone, and it looks as thought the ankle is VERY low on them. Also some of the tacks have T-blades on them.

Pics of the catalog were posted not too long ago that showed the changes.
