Quick update: been using my inserts for about 5 skates now. Added the shim a bit later since I am in a JR skate (thanks Mike for sending those along). I was skeptical to be honest, but they definitely help my foot stay more relaxed and neutral. I've noticed reduced aches and pains in my feet both while on the ice and immediately after.

I may be setting a personal record for the longest, and most expensive, run of bad luck I've ever had. Stereo in the car died, had to replace head, amp and run a lot of new wiring. Once finished, the water pump went out. Normally, that isn't too bad but the engine then overheated as I was nursing it home and it took out the IMS bearing and now the engine is shot. Still waiting to hear about the replacement cost, but it isn't going to be pleasant. Meanwhile, while driving my FJ, I've hit a deer and had a stone crack my windshield.

Crazy Bloody Drop-In Report: Twerp fest, Chip fest. Ugh. Decent skate until someone in a half visor got high-sticked and it drew blood. Ugh. Fighting. Ugh. Positive notes: ten minute shut out. Let in the fewest of all three goalies. Posts rang a LOT. Puck luck in spades.

LOL Yes, I have had to threaten to skate out of the net if I got three shots at a time or shooting at my head or crotch. I have skated out of the crease after stern warnings, and some have had the nerve to have their parents yell at the rink staff, who simply reply with "what did the demonic lagomorph goalie say about not waiting your turn, shooting at his head or his crotch?" Some people are ignorant of the fact that most, if not nearly ALL of our protection is on the front of us, optimised for PUCKS, not bodies. We are woefully unprotected if someone runs us into the goal. My favourite is when a commentator will say "the most padded player on the ice", when it is clear that we may be padded, but can't move all that well in comparison to a player. What it comes down to is sheer ignorance. Thankfully, none of the shots whilst turned have hit my back.

Been through a lot the last 2 and half years. In 2014 Diagnosed with recurrent PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) Tubes in my liver for three months in the spring. In July I had a massive infection in my kidneys. Where the doctors at one point told my wife I had 24 hours to start to improve or I wouldn't make it. Then my second liver transplant on November 7, 2014. In 2015 Had a hernia surgery in May Had another hernia surgery in October. In 2016 Finally got the OK to start working out in February. Starting public skating in May. Last night I got back on the ice for the first time since Summer Jam in Toronto in 2013. I wasn't very good last night, but boy did have a lot of fun.

YES! Perfect! Big long paddle, tall from heel to toe, closed/neutral face, low rocker, squarish (oblong) toe. Let me know when ready to order....

I'd be all over the Shanahan if it was the newer type. Especially with that square toe.

Here's a pic of the blade shape for reference: I'm 90% sure that our samples are lie 6.

As I recall, there is also very little rocker on the Shanahan compared to the PM9.

You've got to market that curve as a pro Kane / Giroux!

Aside from agreeing with everyone about the toe curve, I'd also like to see a P10. I feel that would appeal to many people as well.
