ND Tier 1 beat our MT Tier 2 girls 11-0 (last year was 14-0). NDAHA (Tier 2) topped our kids 8-0. Our girls held SD to a 4-0 win--much closer game than 8-0 last year! My kid and one other girl played in this tourney last season. They were shell-shocked last year and really stepped up this weekend. It was really cool to see. Huge eye-opener for these girls to see higher level girls hockey outside of Montana. Geographically our state is enormous, but we have a tiny hockey community. The rest of the team was shell-shocked (except the goalie...who was amazing)...by the 3rd game they were starting to click! I'm looking forward to them coming back ready next season. This was pretty much the moment I realized that my daughter has passed me in ability and I will never catch up to her. I'm crazy proud of how hard she's pushed herself this year and how much she has learned. She's also a kid who has always played coed hockey and never really integrated socially with girls--she did really well off ice with her team which I was equally happy to see. My kid took a stick to the ribs her last shift of the last game. She probably has bruised ribs. She's in pain, but she'll heal. I'm glad it wasn't her head.

I still don't think it's going to matter. We thought that people would want to revert to LS2 when Edge came out so that they can keep Step. That didn't happen. I highly doubt many people will want to switch to a completely new holder at this point.

Saw the pediatrician yesterday. Bruised, not fractured. She's already starting to feel better. :D

Looking forward to seeing a "Sweet Spot" ending to this story. Hang in there.

If that's the worst sharpen your local place puts out, consider yourself fortunate. Ive been sharpening for 15+ years, I'm sure this Sparx will find its place in the niche markets, just as any other upstart product does. However, people who try to remove the element of human error also eliminate the element of human correction, which I submit is necessary to the art of skate sharpening. I'm curious as to how these machines will hold up durability wise, and how long-term calibration of them will be handled. I find it hard to believe these machines can sit in homes and sharpen for any length of time without requiring some maintenance.

Was able to launch 3 new jersey designs for Hockey Fights T1D at our fundraiser on Oct 1st. I am very please with the designs that Taylor Vause (pro player with T1D that does graphic design on the side) came up with. It has been so great working with him and having that Type 1 Diabetes tie-in with him being the designer. The jerseys are fully sublimated and can be customized with your name and number on them. They are for sale in our store. www.squareup.com/store/HockeyFightsT1D

Had a long-awaited surgery yesterday. So grateful to have a whole house of friends to stay with and help me out.

Yeah as opposed to the brutal NBC guys. The less time I have to listen to Doc Emrick screeching in my life the better.
