The shallower the hollow the less you need to have them sharpened as the steel will hold its edge longer as there is more material. What did you change your profile from?

Thanks Mark...with regard to size...I wear a medium Warrior QRL Pro but a large CCM HP45. I am told that the Super Tacks girdle also fits quite small. I found one for about $75 (it's a large), so I am trying it.

Long overdue on the followup but I'm a huge fan of Pure (+2) and would highly suggest them! I do wonder how the new Pure X's compare though.

Howdy, Have you played with any flat bottom stuff? To me, it sounds like it might work for you. Like the literal marketing pitch is that you get the glide from a shallower hollow and the bite from a deeper one. I do the Sparx stuff and I'd say to give a 5/8 Fire a go if that's available to you. Someone else might be able to recommend an FBV hollow to try. Mark (who, it should be said, is not much of a hockey player. 🙂 So take what I'm saying with lots of salt)

If you like the glide, have you considered playing around more with your profile? If you want more bite and want to keep the glide, get a flatter profile. You may loose a bit of agility, but that might not affect you much if at all in the long run. But at the end of the day there’s no free lunch. It’s about what you want to sacrifice to get a gain. For me, I played around with profile, hollow, and pitch until I got dialled in on what I wanted.

Vs the O1, the R1 chassis has a larger radius to provide more support and stability when pushing off. The smaller radius in the rear allows to still get the smoothness in turns and longer wheel contact with the surface. It offers 4 different interchangeable radius inserts so you can customize according to personal preference. The O1 has a straight 4 ft radius. The R1 comes with the combinations: 5 (rear)-8 (front) ft, 8-8ft, 5-15ft and 8-15ft. //Per, Inventor

Just heard back from the Devils; they plan for the building to be open on 6/1. So, that's two months before the event.
