It took the better part of a decade of dreading going to work every day, but we finally made the leap of faith into a new career for myself, and it is delightful.

So I did a super scientific test this weekend and skated the R1/O1 back-to-back then decided to try both at the same time. I was using the H5 insert on the R1 and keep the O1's center bolt pretty loose. I definitely feel (and see) a lot more rocker with the O1 which forces my muscles to work more when stationary, but when I was skating with one chassis on each foot, the difference didn't feel as drastic. I could do C-cuts on inside and outside edges about the same and didn't feel much of a difference with transitions or the turning radius. Granted, this was skating in a parking lot and not a game situation, but from my initial skate on the R1's I thought there would have been a more noticeable difference. The MPC Freestyle wheels provided me MUCH more grip than they did on the smooth concrete surface I skated on last week so I am definitely going to keep these wheels on for the time being. Biggest difference had nothing to do with the chassis itself, but rather the boot I mounted the R1's to since they're brand new and I'm still breaking them in. Looking forward to others who have both chassis giving their impressions

Spot heat the area with a heat gun and push the dimple out.

Which arch inserts are u using low medium or high? Can u feel these bumps even if u tie them somewhat loosely? Can u feel this "bump" with your fingers inside the boot? If not it could be your foot and not the actual boot. Especially if you say you feel it with both skates, it's less likely a manufacturing defect. What I'd do is tie them snug , somewhere in the area of how you would during game play. Then use a heat gun and spot heat that area just enough so it softens. Be careful not to overheat and don't just point the gun into the area and hold it there. Fan it back and forth a bit holding it a few inches away. That area when soft should relax and it should be enough to have the problem area loosen up just enough. This is assuming that this area is too tight and or has an area that doesn't conform to your door shape in that spot. You can also do the tissue method by putting a small shim in the form of packed tissue on ur foot where u feel the pressure. Heat gun the area u posted, put the skates on, and the shim will create space with the softened area of the boot. Both these methods prevent u having to rebake. I personally think the issue may be because the boots are stock and the baking instructions are only 6 mins. Far less than custom trues, so they don't get quite as malleable as the customs so some oddities between ur foot and the stock skate isn't resolved as well as if the boot were baked longer and softer. That's why I like the heat gun method. You can attack the exact area causing u problems. Of course there are many other reasons causing the discomfort like ur actual arch vs the arch of the skate. That's why I would fiddle with the arch inserts and even leave tension first before going with the heat gun.

AS1 fits way tighter than the FT1.

My son and I have similar results. Both half, (0.5), (1/2) size smaller in tf7 than bauer vapors.

Colins, I understand your marketing plan. It is the traditional path. There is nothing wrong with that. Just to play Devil's Advocate : what about Warrior ? I know they are 15 + years deep with NHL on ice product but how well has that exposure translated at retail? Just my experience in metro NYC market is that Warrior is still trying to make that NHL exposure work at retail but it just has never happened here. This is totally an observation in my market. How about other areas ? Has Warrior been a strong contender against Bauer/CCM in your market ? This is the road Sher-Wood is looking to get on. Dead End or Interstate highway to success ? Don't know, just want to hear other thoughts based on your market. Thanks. Seems like we are doing Sher-Wood's work for them !!

I think you could be missing something here. Surely Sher-wood has to be one of the largest hockey equipment manufacturer in the market right now? Like any reboot I'm sure they'll have some missteps, but I wouldn't count them out by any means. FGL Sports who owns the Sher-Wood brand also controls ProHockeyLife, Canadian Tire Corporation and SportChek. That gives them a huge percentage of Canadian hockey equipment sales and retail market right off the bat. While Bauer continues to raise prices on their high end gear while cutting corners on materials/quality, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sherwood brand become a legit player that if nothing else, should help keep CCM and Bauer honest.

Didn't realize they raised prices. It's also hideous. It's a shame because Sher-Wood is awesome. The m90 is a great stick and a great value. The BPM 120 glove was great all around. Sherwood could honestly do great business by just being good and a bit cheaper

I'm sure getting influencers (vomits) to say this is the coolest looking stick and how this new tech is amazing will be enough for kids to get their parents to buy them a Code V.
