I've tried it, as well as Quads, Zups, Ellipse etc... It is a completely different profile if you're coming from a Quad 0 or some variant of that. It's very neutral as it feels like it's got a flat spot in the middle. Hard to get on your toes as well for quick release shot. You just have to try it to know...

Funny, I used to do the same When I mixed durometers and people looked at me like I was crazy. Seems like most go the opposite

Hey! Sorry for the late reply... Yes you'll be able to buy the O2 4ft inserts separately to use with the R1s. We'll have them in stock here in 2 weeks or so. //Per Mars, Inventor

Of course! Sorry I missed your first post... The weight of the O2 Medium lower chassis is 128 grams (only bottom). While the R1 lower chassis is 139 grams (only bottom aluminum). The upper chassis is the same for both R1 and O2 so it's the lower one that differers in weight. And yes they'll work well for roller hockey as well. You can buy the chassis only through Pure Hockey. https://www.purehockey.com/search.aspx?mfg_web_name=Marsblade&model_year=2025 //Per Mars, Inventor.

I have reached out to Per and from what I understand the upper is the same as the R1 and the lower is interchangeable with the R1 and R1 inserts. The O2 comes with a 4’ radius insert which is equivalent to the Current O1. As a user of the O1 and the R1, I am looking forward to a chassis only version being available. I like what Marsblade is doing with the product.

To add. Of you read thru the site. I think you'll find that no one has ever said a Sparx sharpening is better than a really really good hand sharpening. It is however far more consistent and convenient. I was a Blackstone customer for years and currently own a Sparx. I have never once had a bad sharpening on my Sparx, never. I have however received uneven edges, incorrect hollows, burnt edges and ruined profiles from some very highly regarded hand sharpeners. TBH, I think the market has spoken.

Well…. My liver disease has come back again. My Hepatologist initially thought I would have a good amount of time until I would need to have any intervention or be relisted for a new liver. But since the first of the year I’ve been having more symptoms. Then last week my lab numbers skyrocketed. I got out of being admitted Friday. But the meds to lower my numbers didn’t work and I’ll be going in today. To say this is beyond heartbreaking is an understatement. I’ve done my best to be healthy as possible. I know I can do this again, but knowing everything I’ll have to go through again is hard to wrap my head right now. I guess I’ll need the liver hat trick now. They say the third times the charm, right?
