They're not too worried. Just need to get to April. 😁

One thing I noticed going from old Daoust 501s that fit like slippers to new modern boots - if you get them fitted well and baked, try using them without tightening them up too much. I was trying to tie mine snug like I liked with the older more flexible materials, but with the modern boots that simply didn't work, it caused my feet to get numb or sore especially in the width, and I am wearing EE in a the CCM Jetspeed line. So now I just tie them barely snug from the toe up to the top two eyelets (I skip the very top eyelet) where I pull them a little tighter. Seems to work for me. colins

Yes foams will eventually form to your foots shape and yes that will help accelerate the break-in process. However, no amount of skating or use will mold the outer composite boot. Baking is the only way to achieve that. It's also the only way to maximize the overall fit, which will enhance the skates performance. To the OP's question. No, there is no reason not to bake them.

Hmm, missed that. I did get a bunch of good slap shots at my last game, PP28 curve is just right for me... and I got lift/control/speed... so the puck landed right into the chest of the goalie. He didn't have to move at all. 😂

He said he didn't like Open curves though so I don't think the PP28 is the Sherwood I'd recommend - the PP77 is their old-school Coffey. Nice big curve but closed and low lie. But the most obvious choice at Retail would be the P88. Closed, 1/2" mid curve, low lie (don't be fooled by Bauer's marking of a 6 lie on this one - it's significantly lower lie than their other popular curves). You can find it in Bauer, CCM, Warrior, True, everyone has a P88 curve that meets your old school closed low lie criteria. P88 has lasted for a reason. colins

Why would you not want to maximize fit? Even if they feel good now, it's a noticeable difference after baking.

There’s just no reason not to.

Brendan Gallagher broke his stick in anger yesterday but he's okay since he's with Warrior. 🤣

You wore them under the tongue and the entire shin guard was sticking out as much? Are you wearing some additional knee braces, or storing a ham and cheese sub on your shins?

When I tried the FT1's on, they struck me as similar to the Vapor 1x which I ditched for the Nexus 2n's. Shots went right through those Vapor's, and when I landed on my knees, the shock went right through my hips, back, and and neck. I love the FT1 elbow pads...not the shinguards. If I played forward and wasn't a physical player...maybe then. I'm in two leagues...one is light stuff...can wear anything. The other is up to ex-minors/college/junior level...I need protection from that bunch.
