Haha wow. Talk about Frankenstein's monster!

Brutal. Time off sucks. I'm kind of glad we didn't have holiday time off, even if we did have to win a game with 5 skaters.

Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

That's pretty awesome of you man. Can't wait to get mine! -
I'd go M7, personally.
-
Yea it was pretty ridiculous at times. They're such a chippy team. I was actually looking at the league standings the other day. We have less than half the overall penalty minutes of the next lowest team.
-
No issue here.

Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

Yea I got the Kickstarter price. Also, I'm not sure I understand your question... At least, I don't understand its relevance to Sparx. -
I think he actually got quite a bit of the post. It wasn't until later in the game that I had a guy actually plow me over.
-
Haha nope, no call on the play. Notice how I basically just ignored it and got my drink? :)

No issues with durability.

Pretty crap game last night. Not super busy (hence the video being so short). Also I ran out of space on my memory card so I lost the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period, where a bunch of goals were scored, I got run over, one of our guys got hit from behind starting a "scrum" behind my net (that I attempted to get involved in until the ref yelled at me to back off), them scoring an empty-net goal that resulted in the goal scorer getting tossed for his theatrics after the goal, and then us scoring with 19 seconds left, unfortunately making the empty net the winning goal. Ended up losing 5-4 I believe... the game sheet still says 4-3 for some reason. Also, the camera angle sucks pretty bad in the first period, and REALLY bad in the second period. I could tell it was aimed too low, but I didn't want to fix it because I was trying to get away with having it without the refs telling me to take it down and didn't want to bring attention to it. Anyway, here's the video.

Welcome! Always happy to see another new 'tender!

You have incredible patience.

I'm not but a teammate is. The only real noticeable difference is going to be weight.

Okay guys, after YouTube being a royal pain in the ass for some reason for the last few days, I FINALLY got my footage from Tuesday night pickup uploaded. I actually put my Hero+ (1080p @ 60fps) behind the net, which is the first time I got to use this camera inside the glass. It looks amazing! However, I decided to also use my old Hero (720p) on my mask, just for fun. I like the footage from that for the most part, but editing took a lot longer because of it, and I'm also not sure it's worth the effort. Maybe I'll keep doing it and only include any REALLY cool footage I get with it, instead of every save or goal. Unfortunately combining both sets of footage into the same video made it export only as 720p, so that sucks. However I did also upload a video of JUST the usual behind the net footage in 1080p. This one is probably better for learning, which is really the goal of making these videos in the first place. It's meant to be for self-coaching, not just as a novelty. I'll link to both videos here. I would think most of you would want to watch the dual camera video just because it's cooler, but if you want to skip the first person view just watch the 1080p video instead.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it :)

I'm so jealous of those who have ponds to play on :(

Awesome to hear! Always worth the extra for a decent mask. Okay, I bought like 3 different mount kits for my old GoPro. I'd LIKE to rig up something to put it on my chin as I think that'd be the best vantage point, but if not I'll just do the normal vented helmet mount on top.

For a skate oven, yes.
-
Yes, and I've baked skates at home as well. I'd still never recommend others do it.
-
I personally wouldn't recommend baking skates at home unless you have a convection oven. For what its worth, I put my superfeet into my Makos without rebaking with no issues.
-
You HAVE to bake Makos to be able to tell how they're going to feel for you. I couldn't even get them on my feet before baking. I had mine set to 10' (9 is stock) with a slight negative pitch to eliminate the pitch from the holders.

Here's the game footage from last night. I don't normally put in saves by the other goalie but he made a pretty damn good one that was worth leaving in. Also left in the goals we scored while I was at the other end of the ice. Unfortunately for league games I'm not allowed to have the camera on the inside of the glass, so theres a bit of glare. This is my first game using my new GoPro Hero+ (1080p @ 60fps, as compared to the 720@60 my old GoPro used to be). Like I mentioned, we had 5 skaters so they were all on the ice for most of the time. We'd have a guy take a knee in our zone on occasion and a couple times somebody would go sit on the bench for a minute or so. The fact that we were up 4-1 at one point is a testament to the scoring ability of our team. It also means my 5+ GAA doesn't hurt us too badly (though that number was heavily skewed by the 14-3 loss.. it should probably be between 3-4). Anyway, they weren't too happy about it. They offered three times before the game to just play pickup and we said "nah, we'll see what happens." Very glad we played for keeps ;) You can see how upset their superstar was with the way he booked it to the dressing room after shaking hands (normally you also shake the refs hands). He's also the guy who tried the same toe drag move about 6 times. You can't miss him, he wears two different color socks because I guess that's how we know how awesome he is. Enjoy :)
