  1. Perhaps you are doing something different than the stores that have been talking to me. None of them have the inventory to actually put on sale.
  2. From what I heard from shops, they actually like the yearly releases more than the 2 year cycles as it means they have less of the inventory of the old models so they don't have to clear them out. They also don't have to book as much product from the get go since it doesn't need to last a 2 year cycle. I hate the yearly releases as I don't think there are big enough improvements year over year to actually make significant updates and you end up with gear that was changed just for the sake of it. But I totally understand why they do it and why stores like the yearly cycles.
  3. I know their social media person is no longer with them. Which is probably one of the reasons their socials haven't been updated really. I think the writing on the wall for hockey being done completely was there for a while now. Not sure if the Halo gloves were the last ditch hope or just the last product that was in development. As for the Halo stick, I'd ignore it. It was very light and impressive for weight when it came out, but now every company has a lighter stick. STX also had issues with blade durability on them and had a lot of warranty returns because of it.
  4. According to this PDF. Cat 7 is composite and Cat 5 is Fibreglass. https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn%3Aaaid%3Ascds%3AUS%3A85882b7e-1b8b-3288-a9dd-53243a6c6bf2#pageNum=11
  5. I have finally done my review on them. I have to make it clear Rezztek sent me 2 player tapes and a goalie tape so I could do a review on them. Puck feel is the biggest change on here, you instantly notice it and it took a dampened blade of a Geo and made it pingy. But the feeling is great and it makes passing and stick handling feel like everything has more zip and is more crisp. I really didn't notice a difference on shots, you notice the more pingy feel but I never noticed a difference on the actual result of the shot itself. If money was no option, I'd use these all the time. But they are just a bit too expensive for me to justify putting on all of the different sticks, I wish they offered a bulk discount on 10 packs to make it more affordable. I was able to remove the tape from one stick to another though after my goalie stick broke with it on. The 2nd application wasn't as good (obviously) and I had to tape an edge down. But it still worked until that stick also unfortunately broke. No, the Rezztek had nothing to do with the 2 sticks breaking. I also got to try the goalie version and I think that version is pretty pointless. You aren't playing the puck enough to justify adding a blade tape to the stick and deflections off your stick aren't really going to make a difference with it or without it.
  6. Literally just put them on for sizing, they weren't cool enough for me to get an idea of the stiffness sorry.
  7. I got a chance to try on (and bake) 8.5R Cat 9 skates. Those skates fit smaller length wise than the 8W I had for TF9. I might be getting a pair of the 9s so if I do I'll be sure to compare the lengths and see how they fit after a proper bake and everything.
  8. Unfortunately not going to happen unless True or someone sent them to me. I don't have the connection to get what I used to anymore 😞
  9. I think the actual idea is being able to make the hole sizes smaller so injuries like Kuemper don't happen. The reason cateyes exist is to keep the bars out of the eyes which opens up protection holes. Smaller "bars" like these, with smaller overall holes aim to keep the same or better vision than cateyes while removing the gaps.
  10. I found it loosened up with use.
  11. It is why I have attempted to do the 3D hand fit for any gloves I can get my hand on, so the length comparison can be replicated and anyone can print the 3D hand...
  12. In that case I don't think there are that version of XC9 in pro stock. So only really Catalyst 9X. But if you are going pro stock there is really reason to buy them when Bauer and CCM exist unless there is a very specific spec you are looking for.
  13. Old XC9 had zipper palms. New ones look like this: Will only really be able to get them on clearance now if you can still find them.
  14. Pretty sure it is just name brand advertising requirements by the NHL. CCM had to pay for both Reebok and CCM even though they were the same company.
  15. The 2nd edition XC9 were good, and the 9X are also solid. If you search on YouTube for them there is a few good videos showing why 😉
  16. Where to begin... QRL were a great idea but the foams were way too soft/weak for protection and the finger pieces weren't sewn tight enough together so massive gaps appeared and sticks could easily get between them. QX glove was basically the exact same as above. QRE fixed a bunch of the foam protection issues but went down to 3 piece backhand padding. Which isn't the end of the world but annoying. DX fixed most of what was wrong with QX, it was a solid glove. QRE 10 put 1 GIANT piece of foam/plastic in the backhand which conflicts with how hands actually move. Flex cuff was more open which I think is a step backwards but is fine. FR Pro & LX Pro... killed off the solid DX to make a cheaper in everything FR Pro. Which is pretty disappointing all around, meh foams, 2 piece fingers, restrictive cuff. LX Pro is the glove no one really asked for, with good foams and overall design but a way too restrictive cuff. I think the QR5 Pro glove is probably solid, but I haven't seen it yet. The problem with Warrior now is there is just more competition for them as well. CCM still makes solid stuff, Bauer makes okay stuff, True makes excellent gloves, Sherwood even makes really good gloves. So they have to do something actually good and decent to warrant anyone going to them.
  17. I have been looking at Avangard's gloves for a while now because they have had a lot of really weird stuff going on there. I thought it was because they had a sponsorship with certain companies but was told that was not the case. Sorry to link my own page here... but I posted a couple collages and it shows off what I am talking about. This one shows gloves with normal cuffs, as well as gloves painted and with blank gold cuffs, as well as gloves panted and blank red cuffs. https://www.instagram.com/p/CV8c2kcJ0e1/ This one is more covered cuffs. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRmDJSPAInn/ They have also had "V" on the cuffs from over a year ago (Feb 2021). So I don't think it has anything to do with current world events. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKwnwxHgbVg/ I've had it confirmed to me that it isn't a sponsorship deal, but rather the team complying with KHL restrictions of trying to make all of the gear and gloves more uniform and matching. Though the reason for the V on those specific gloves hasn't been disclosed to me.
  18. These are great and work well. Slightly annoying to put on but I love them.
  19. Looks like a shell. But he has HPTK uppers?
  20. If you can actually find a Project X close to the advertised weight... none of the ones I looked at were lighter than a Trigger 5 Pro. Grabbed every senior stick a store had and weighed each one.
  21. You do realize the whole point of the Model E was to mimic the old Easton sticks and not one of the newer modern ones right?
  22. Nah you are right again. Serves me right trust people from Instagram without searching it up myself
  23. You posted the video where he actually wore a one piece in a game before. I meant to link that in my previous post but something went weird. Yeah this photo proves they are. I swear it wasn't there when I made that comment 😂
  24. Honestly... the easiest way to cover up the backhand is just to stick a piece of sticky side Velcro to a piece of fabric and shove it in there. True used to do that with all of their gloves with removable palms and it works pretty well and it is considerably easier than sewing on the inside of the glove.
