  1. I hope they're put together a little better than most Bauer shoulders like the 1N. Almost all Bauer shoulder pads we've had needed to be repaired. The shoulder cap and arm guard needed to be reinforced and the 1N uses some thin plastic pieces to coordinate the layers of chest protection. Those break. I'd love to see some photos of how the Pro Series are put together.
  2. I thought I was set for the season then my son broke three sticks in one week about a month ago. We normally buy pro stock sticks on Sideline Swap with good luck. I purchased a 67" 85 flex Warrior LXPRO and it's super. So we decided to take advantage of a super deal from Perani's Hockey World on a closeout LXPRO. They were selling them for $205 plus a 25% coupon code. We never have sticks under warranty so I thought his would be cool. Ordered December 17 and had the stick before xmas. I wrap it up as a gift. My son opened his gift and it had a big chip out of the toe. It was shipped in a box so it left like this. Perani's sent another right away. It showed up with a creaky blade. Can't believe it. My son taped it up and took it to warmups anyway. The blade completely split at the toe. He never even got to use it. Now Warrior wants to send a new stick but says no warranty on any replacement stick coming from them. What a crock.
  3. What's the difference between Skatescribe Power Cut, Skatescribe Gold, Skatescribe Atomic K-Cut? Is there any literature on this?
  4. I watched the video, just wondering if you were doing something different. I'll give it a go.
  5. Prop the rear up? I'm confused. Do you have the skate flipped in the sharpener like the video?
  6. So is this confirmed? If I buy a 69" CCM stick it can be cut with no issue? There's no insert like the Bauer's?
  7. Claimed 75 sharpenings on a $70 wheel. I like that if true.
  8. They ended up replacing all rivets, both skates. $60.
  9. Runners are brand new. I was wondering about the holder being straight as assembled.
  10. I just noticed the holders on my sons skates need to be re riveted. I thought the new steel we just got was loose but it's the whole holder. Many of the rivets are loose and actually move in and out. This on a pair of pro stock (custom My Bauer) Hyperlites with very little wear otherwise. I want to make sure the holders are straight/aligned when they're in the shop. Is that a thing? Is it hard to do? Should I expect any retail store to this correctly?
  11. That's surprising. My sons pro stock HYPERLITE lasted a whole season of Minnesota varsity play(no practice, only games). He played a lot of minutes including taking pp faceoffs, it did not break.
  12. We put the 1S's and 2SPro's through a couple of association and AAA seasons and never had one issue with eyelets. Then went to Ultrasonics and needed to replace a few of the metal eyelets two or three times. Now have had Hyperlites for about a month. We'll see.
  13. The new McDavid curve? Wasn't the P28 the Hall curve?
  14. I looked at some of the newer Bauer shoulder's locally and they were tiny. I thought the Seniors were Junior sizes. What's up with that? My son is currently using Bauer 1N's. The fit and protection are great although they've needed to be repaired more than once. Typical for Bauer shoulder pads.
  15. They hold up well. My son used them for two seasons of varsity and they're still okay. No issue with the tendon guards. I think you're getting a good deal. Can't you get them shipped for $50? Save all that time? Also, we're getting a like new pair of pro stock Hyperlite skates today to possibly replace the Ultrasonics. We'll see.
  16. If anyone is really interested, many people sharpen on a SPARX. I don't care and don't know what that has to do with this thread. Nobody has heard of Skatscribe is a fair statement as well as an accurate one. Where is the Skatscribe in Minneapolis? The Twin Cities is the center of the hockey world in the United States. Minnesota has 50,000 youth players, 254 varsity high school teams, 100 Jr Gold teams, 6 D-1 programs. I'm in the middle of nowhere, far from Minneapolis yet less than an hour drive to 15 arenas and 35 sheets of ice. Nobody at any of those places has heard of this. I need new skates soon and at least two new sets of runners and would love to utilize the newer Ellipse technology but I'm not sending boxes of gear off to another country.
  17. Sure, I'll do that. Where are the Skatscribe machines in Minnesota?
  18. The place we go to with the ProSharp hasn't got any new profiles in years. No 0.5, no Ellipse, etc.
