  1. As far as fit, you must have a fairly wide head. We have found the RE-AKT, and the RE-AKT 150 similar.
  2. $250 for a usable size. They're old skates. Unless there is a vintage surcharge. 🙄
  3. Wow. I guess doing them on my own I would never bake at 220. But if that's what the manufacturer says.
  4. Get them all replaced. What is an average store charge for eyelet replacement? Few dollars each?
  5. Thanks. That's helpful. My son had a pair of Vapors years ago for about a week, just too narrow. He doesn't have wide feet anymore and the new Fit system means we can get any Bauer skate pretty much. We went Ignite Pro +, MX-3, 2N, 2SPro, UltraSonic. Almost forgot about the pair of 1N's I bought him. He was growing fast and never got to use them. They're still boxed up in the basement!
  6. Anyone go from the UltraSonic to the Hyperlite skate? Thoughts? Felt tongue to whatever the Hyperlite is?
  7. We'll see. I have a QRE 10, 75 flex, that should be here Friday. Sorry, off topic.
  8. That's odd. What stick model was that?
  9. I didn't know that. It is too bad because we usually like a mid kick.
  10. Yes. And there are some obvious examples. Maybe someones Team USA gloves? We just played a hs team that has a kid that played for Team USA this past summer. He still has his gear, was using a red Team USA stick in the game. Can't really keep using those sticks forever but you can keep the gloves going! I'm in this thread because my sons practice gloves have holes in them. The lining and padding are in nice shape, gloves are only a year old. So trying to weigh the new vs repair. Gloves are retail Bauer 2S Pro.
  11. The LX Pro seems to be popular everywhere. As far as this Novium, I would just say it seems now the new stick isn't always better than the previous. Usually is, but not always. Agree? The company's marketing is going to require something "new and improved" and on a schedule.
  12. So Hockey Menders is officially no more? How about George's in St. Paul? $85 a pair, that's on the steep side? No one is really posting price they paid.
  13. So there are always HP45X pants for sale on SidelineSwap. I know they have an extension but would a Medium be large/long enough for someone 6'1", 160lbs, 32" waist? Currently using 2S Pro retail which are barely long enough.
  14. Yes you are but that's like .1% of players. Most of just have to pick something and then that's what we have. We're on what ever came with the Ultrasonics, Quad 1 I believe so that's what we had our new runners ground to as well.
  15. Can I slide paper under the runners on a flat surface? Can that tell me anything?
  16. Well the one pictured above used to be about $30 on ebay a few years ago. It's about $2 of materials. I know that doesn't mean it's going to cost $5.
  17. Selling used sticks with tape on them. Ya, I don't need to see what's under there.
  18. Hi Sue, We've went through the Speed Plates too. First version seems like a super high arch. Really like the 2.0 but they're so heavy. So I just emailed Bauer and said I wanted to buy a couple of pairs of the insoles that came in our UltraSonics. Here is their reply; Hi, We do not sell these as an aftermarket product, we sell the SpeedPlate for this usage. I would also recommend looking at SuperFeet insoles. Thank you, Jacob Jacob Waterhouse | Bilingual E-Commerce / Warranty Rep | BAUER HOCKEY | I thought the reply was ridiculous. They can't sell any replacement "parts" for their products?
  19. That's a good point and I actually had another thread about that. The head guy at the local shop I go to told me they can match any set I bring in. But I don't want a bad set matched. He's referring to people who bring in banana blades and ask to have there new steel close to that. Ha! I'm not asking to be able to eyeball different profiles, I feel like they should be able tell with a template or by their machine???
  20. About a year ago. Always sharpened on my SPARX. And we've always had the same hollow so rarely have to do three passes. I've had a new set of runners I want to start using so of course I want them to feel like the other set.
  21. Just curious what local shop will say when I ask them to "check" my Quad 1 profile that they originally did. Is that a thing, or do you just pay another $40 and get them checked which is really just reprofiling? I take them to Scheel's Sports in Fargo ND. So their tech center has a Prosharp machine but at the same time they're also waxing skis, and mounting bicycle tires, etc.
