  1. The AS3 Pro no longer comes with the Orthomove insoles. We have had a lot of people have issues in the same place and unfortunately there doesnt seem to be an easy fix for it other than removing the tongue and shaving down the inside area thinning it out.
  2. Part of the reason why TRUE decided to release a retail skate was them noticing many players didnt even need a custom skate. Therefore releasing a retail model with the same high end specification as the custom will help decrease the labor overhead for making custom skate. This was especially true for younger players who have not developed any major foot issues or injuries.
  3. Ive seen the opposite. Factually, your mileage may vary regardless of the stick brand and model. You could just get a bad batch. It happens. I dont put too much thought into it anymore. I just use whatever works and when it breaks I get another stick from the bench. All I care about is if it feels good and shoots nicely.
  4. Not that I have been able to track down. Plus CCM let go of almost all of the FAST reps so finding people who really know that stuff front to back is difficult to come across. Ill see if I can get one of the WHL reps to share some information with me that is public knowledge.
  5. I had some free demos from them. They were terrible. Cant imagine anyone liking that trash. I gave them away to some kids who use them for street hockey now. They say they are a good street hockey stick. lol
  6. Durability is all going to be the same for the most part with high end sticks. If you want soemthing more durable dont buy top of the line and instead go with the TEAM model of sticks. That way when they start to break you jsut toss it out and get a new one. No one wants to toss a $300 sticks but most have no issues sending a $100 stick to the garbage when its about to give up.
  7. This shop is seriously lost. They need to spend some time with their Bauer rep to understand the FIT system better. I wear a pretty standard 7.5D/A in Supreme/Tacks and a 7.5E/A in Vapor/Jetspeed. For me, that easily translated into a FIT2 with Bauer in both the Vapor and Supreme top of the line skates. Others might have a foot that is more narrow, yet tall (or needing more volume), they could technically be between a FIT1 and a FIT2, which means they still might need to take into consideration the skate design and even the specific skate model. For example, tier-three Bauer skates come in the FIT system but will have thinner tongues and padding. Thus they will have slightly more volume as compared to tier-one skates. If you tried on both a Vapor and Supreme tier-one skate in the same FIT you would notice they fit somewhat similar but one is still going to feel better for a player than the other. This could be due to the Vapor asymmetrical design vs the Supreme symmetrical design. One skate having more/less padding, the padding type, tongue design, toe cap, footbeds, among many other variables. To put this in perspective. I tried on the top three Supreme skates in both FIT1 and FIT2. In the top two models FIT2 fit better, but the tier-three skate felt better in a FIT1. I think the FIT system adds some good things to the mix but also causes a lot of confusion too. Its almost like they need to be able to offer skates in a true 3D fit, length, width and depth. Select your model, forefoot width, heel width, length, and volume.... wait... they do offer that. Its called custom. 😉
  8. I have TRUE custom skates but was also able to fit in a TF9 retail skate as well. They are very thermoformable and adapt well to foot shape. Note: I dont have any specific foot issues and can fit into most retail Bauer and CCM skates.
  9. Everyone has their own opinion but I personally think CCM is way more advanced than Bauer when it comes to sticks. The FT3 Pro is a fantastic stick and CCM has two other sticks releasing this year that are also amazing as well. While I used to boucne around between brands for many years changing between brands I am firmly on the CCM bandwagon now.
  10. Nate really roughed up Cale in that pic.
  11. I think the best lesson learned here is to try on everthing until you find a few that seem like contenders. Then, try those on again. Then, do it again. Repeat until you have eliminated all of the fits and sizes. I even recommend trying on multiple brands of skates. CCM may fit better than Bauer and vice versa. It kills me when players come into the store and request a Vapor/Jetspeed becuase they think they are slow if they wear a Supreme/Tacks. Damn marketing ruining people minds! The player then tries on only two pairs of Vapor skates and even when we tell them they are in the wrong fit, size, width or skate mode they insist its the perfect fit for them and wont accept any feedback. We bake the skates and then 1 month later they come back with a pissed off parent saying the skate doesnt fit the player properly. I then show them I have it documented in our systems notes that we recommened to them that skate fit was wrong and they wanted the skates anyway.... This is why I have always liked CCM offering that 90 day satisfaction guarantee. It really bails out shops like our in situation likes this.
  12. Mine weigh 983g per skate in a size 7.5. Thse are custom skates so they have clarino liners, added foams and I also use Flare steel. Just holding them in hand vs the retail skates you can feel they weigh slightly heavier. The skate is very stiff. Significantly stiffer than the AS1 unless you had previously ordered customer AS1 skate before and requested the X-Stiff or XX-Stiff option. You can alter the stiffness options on the skates at the following sections: The comfort guards help a lot. I actually went with the enhanced comfort pads which add an extra 3mm. Toe box is fine for me. I still use powerfoot inserts in it. Some people say the new XS tongue created some pressure for them on the tops of their toes where it joins the toe cap. I dont have this issue. Bottom of the boot is no thicker or thinner than the previous year. Before molding the skate it was insanely stiff. Once baked it becomes much more pliable and thermoformable. I think these actually are more thermo reactive than the AS1, very similar to the FT2. I would not stand while baking them as you put pressure on the eyelets and will likely damage the boot. They smell expensive.
  13. It sounds to me like this shop did a half assed job.....
  14. After the recent news, from the last 24 hours, I think we are going to see things delayed again....
  15. Ive seen a few stores who still have some stock left of that tape ina 1.5" width. I dont think they make it anymore though.
  16. I need to see the proven science and studies behind the design.... I dont know if I could ever get over how ugly it looks though.
  17. I have customs. Had them made a few weeks ago. They havent updated the website/app and all of the literature yet but just assume where it says custom AS1 they mean custom AS3 Pro.
  18. But did you try a FIT2? You bascially went from trying on a C width to a E/EE and skipped over an entire width....
  19. Did the scanner also recommend FIT1? It sounds to me like you likely needed a 7.5 FIT2.
  20. Thats the best way to do it. Good job!
  21. I own the Warrior Covert QRE Pro girdle in a size medium and just got the new Jetspeed girdle also in a medium. I find they fit close in size but the CCM is slightly more snug, not significant though. I would personally recommend a small based on the information you shared.
