  1. The trickster is a dual pour wheel so it should be the same, no? https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rink_Rat_Trickster/descpage-RRTK.html I’d be looking to use them on the road/asphalt
  2. If the MPC Freestyle are the same as the Rink Rat Trickster X-Grip, are you playing with them outdoors on asphalt or on smoother surfaces? How have they been wearing? I just picked up a set of these and they certainly feel softer than the Labeda Asphalt wheels I’ve been using for years. Concerned with longevity and durability (especially considering the price)
  3. With the exception of another pair of gloves and a jersey or two, I’ve been pretty good with not buying ice equipment during quarantine. Roller on the other hand... got one new pair of skates, converted another pair to Marsblade O1, have another pair waiting for the R1, think I’ve tried out 3 sets of wheels, picked up a pair of sticks, and some off ice training tools. Whether you see it as a pro or a con, I’ll likely be using the roller gear a lot more in the near future. Not sure when I’ll be back on the ice which sucks
  4. I wrote this on another forum a while back when people were inquiring about Bladetech: “Bladetech’s innovation is a notch carved out of the steel near the front part of the holder. It's supposed to allow the steel to move slightly allowing it to 'spring' in the holder, giving you a bit more burst of speed. I was given a pair of steel last year by my pro shop after a mishap. I could not tell any difference from my normal Step Steel in terms of performance, but only used them for 4-6 games before switching back to Step. I still have concern about unnecessary wear to the holder with the steel moving and not being secure, but have been assured on numerous occasions that this is not a concern. I didn't not like the steel while I used it, but am comfortable with Step so that's what I use. The BT is in backup rotation if I need an emergency set of steel. While their black/colored steel is a matte finish, not mirrored, I didn't notice any additional snow buildup on the blades vs mirrored finish Step Black. The problem with BT has been no information out there about the product. There's a bit on their website, but almost no real world reviews. Makes it difficult for anyone to learn more about them. I'm not a youtuber or gear reviewer, or anything like that. With Step now being exclusive to CCM, if you can't find Step Steel, BT is about on par with Byonic steel in terms of pricing and less expensive than Tydan“
  5. Not bad and I like the red, but seems like they should have incorporated green since every other team in Seattle has that color palate. Agree about the waist stripes not matching the arm stripes. That’s a detail that always irks me. Pants really need a stripe on them the whole ‘krak house’ and ‘krak heads’ is absolutely hilarious!! Can’t believe no one caught that (or cared) during focus groups
  6. Did everyone that received a delay email preorder size Large? I preordered Medium which was originally slated to arrive in August. Haven’t seen an email saying they’re delayed anymore. Any 8.5 skate owners order Large or stick to Medium? Chart shows medium as the recommended chassis but a 9 is a large. Still not sure which would be better, but thought medium will result in a smaller radius and require more balance which would benefit me on the ice
  7. Curious why you didn’t try Fit 2 if you’ve been skating in Supremes for the last 7 years. Fit 1 is lower volume like the Vapor line. If the Supreme line fits your feet I would think you’d gravitate toward Fit 2 first. The fact you didn’t even try this fit before buying the skates doesn’t make any sense? at this point talk to the shop and see if they will exchange them

  9. I do agree it’s absurd most websites, including Revision(!), don’t include this basic information. Maybe it’s not accurate as the wheels don’t have the durometer printed on them, but it’s out there https://www.ebay.com/itm/Revision-Wheels-Inline-Roller-Hockey-Asphalt-Pro-72mm-89A-4-Pack/323609788786 http://www.talkingbread.co.il/Wheels/76mm-89A-Revision-Wheel/724987/ https://www.amazon.ca/Revision-Inline-Roller-Hockey-Asphalt/dp/B07M59MJP4
  10. Thanks for your input. Not sure what you mean by this? The marketing materials for the wheel is listed at 89a
  11. I’ve used both orange (85a) and white (83a) Labeda asphalt wheels for years with no complaints. The Revision Asphalts seem to be 89a and I like the neutral gray color. Wondering if anyone has experience with them and how they compare to Labeda? Can’t seem to find much of anything out there about these wheels and figured it might be worth trying something different once my current set wears out https://www.revisionhockey.com/product/revision-afs2-asphalt-pro/
  12. Thank you for all the additional answers. Since the R1 requires an insert to change the rocker motion vs the center bolt on the O1, is there a reason an insert that provides maximum mobility can’t be created? IIRC from one of the other posts, the H5 insert is most like ice. Based on the chart on your site, that insert allows maximum heel movement and more toe movement than any other insert. Could another insert be made to have maximum heel movement AND maximum toe movement which would essentially match the movement of the O1? Conversely, I think it would be interesting to also have an insert that would eliminate almost all movement. Obviously not the purpose of the product, but there are times when movement is not desired and rather than having to throw on another pair of skates, you could simply change the insert.
  13. Are there any durability concerns with the inserts? Will this be a component that will wear out and need replacing? If so, what is the expected lifespan and how much will replacement inserts cost?
  14. So if the bolt is tightened all the way, only loosen in 180*? That’s it?
  15. Finally got my O1's mounted and gave them a try. First impressions, they're, uh, clunky. Crossovers/transitions are extremely smooth just like ice, but when you lift up, you can feel the chassis 'clunk' back into the down position. Perhaps I have the center bolt too loose? That's another quibble; not knowing how tight each frame is. I think I've adjusted them so they're both pretty similar, but it would be nice if there was some kind of dial or marking so you could ensure both rockers are matched. Definitely looking forward to putting more time on them and was totally expecting to face plant the first time I stood up, but it's not THAT big of a difference like I was thought it would be. Just smoother vs the feeling of being on rails with traditional inline.
  16. Reviving this from the dead since I'm sure a lot of us have converted ice skates to inlines during quarantine.
  17. Yeah, Petter said that, which is why it's so damn confusing because even with that description he says they still don't feel as much like ice as the O1. They really need to get more information out there about the product. I'd like to hear from Pavel, Jeremy, Nasher, etc who had some good insights into the O1 years ago "H5-T8: Most similar to ice hockey H5-T15: A lot of heel movement but full contact during push offsH8-T8: Smoother feeling H8-T15: Most controlled feeling, less movement i general but still clear benefits from the rocker"
  18. As do I, but all I keep hearing is the R1’s don’t feel as much like ice which makes me think about sticking with the O1
  19. Thanks. Your sons haven’t had any durability issues playing with them?
  20. Those on the O1 chassis, are you using the flat set up or the smaller wheel in front? Does the smaller front wheel make that much of a difference?
  21. I switched all my sticks to Tacki Mac or tennis overgrip a few years ago and couldn't be happier. I use the Tacki Mac that looks like faux tape and I don't get why people say these things are too thick because this version is not thick at all. Tried the Kane version, but don't tape my sticks that way and like a little butt end. Tennis Overgrip is also great, dirt cheap, and while it does wear, it's cheap enough and easy enough to replace 2x a season. The wear on my palms after a season is about the same as a single game using traditional tape
  22. Were you pulling the shells over the kidney belt on your pants or tightening them below the belt? I'd guess the latter which is why they'd be longer. You should pull them over the kidney belt. This also makes sure they don't slide down
  23. I second JB Weld. Had holes through my wear patches and simply made new ones. For about $5, it was a no brainer before: after:
  24. Hey Per, a few follow up questions if you don’t mind. all this talk about the R1 being for roller and the O1 being for off ice training, does the R1 replicate the feel of ice skates in the same way the O1 does or not? Could you please provide more information about inserts and the effects they have on the rocker/skating? How easy are they to change? The short video on your site just shows it sliding in and out. Is it that simple? If it is, what keeps the insert secure in the chassis? Lastly, are the lower part of the chassis anodized, painted, powder coated? I know blue is your color, but do you envision black or silver being offered in the future? Something more understated
  25. Are the mounting holes for the O1 and R1 the same? Would it be worth upgrading from the original to the new chassis? Is there a substantially different feel between the two since one is a flat setup and the other is hi-lo?
