  1. The only bonus I've ever got in radio was when the Company was sold a few years back. Basically it worked out to $200 for every year of service...I got $800...but it was taxed (heavily) I think I came away with just over $450.
  2. I'm not familiar with this thing you speak of! A "bonus" it is called???
  3. That's part of it...I realize. Add it to the reasons not to go. Hell, even our play by play guy walked around the press box during intermission going "no one tell me the score" b/c he was recording his beloved Dolphins against NE. AHL Attendance yesterday (all games were 3-5p starts EST) Hershey - 10,125 Rockford - 6,353 Providence - 5,015 Iowa - 3,825 Hamilton - 3,248 Chicago - 2,932 (Wow...that's low with the Bears on a bye)
  4. Oh...of course that's what they say. So sick of hearing all the excuses NOT to come to games. 1. weather is too bad to go outside to get to a hockey game 2. weather is too good to be inside at a hockey game 3. team is struggling 4. too expensive 5. parking downtown sucks and it's expensive. 6. nowhere to go eat before/after the game Well... 1&2. Weather in Southern Ontario won't change because it's an NHL team 3. If it's an expansion team, we'll be bad for a while...if it's Florida moving here...we'll be bad for a while 4. Tickets are between $24-37.50. You won't be getting into an NHL game that cheap. There are TONS of ways to get cheaper tickets. There is a grocery chain in town that sells half price tickets for Sunday games...which are usually 3p starts. 5. Parking is usually between $5-10 on Game Day...when big concerts or events come to town..it instantly jumps to $20-30 (or more). When they used to play NHL Preseason games at Copps...parking was stupid...and if 5,000 (which is a great crowd for us) clogs downtown...you want to try 17,000+ 41 times a year??? 6. There are now 3 restaurants with 2-5 minute walk to the arena...not to mention another 4-6 in Hess Village (maybe 10 minutes).
  5. Less than 3,500 on a Sunday afternoon for Bulldogs/Marlies!!! C'mon...And people say Hamilton deserves NHL Hockey!?!?!?!
  6. We get the same thing here. Kids come in on tours from local Media/Radio programs and all they talk about is..."can I come work here", "who do I send my resume/demo to"....but when it comes to hiring, they all either have other jobs they can't get way from...or weekends are a problem. Most of our part time work IS evenings and weekends...and I TOLD you that when you first said you were first interested. We hired 5 new Ops (studio producers) and within 6 months, 4 of them flaked out on us. Kids don't want to work for it...or put in any time. They want a $35,000 production job handed to them. News flash...you have to start PT and IF you are lucky enough to get to FT...it's not gonna be that high!!!
  7. I think he finished out the year Murray was replaced with Black skates...then the first full year under Hitch switched back to White.
  8. We're going to have to get an Edmonton picture into that rotating Banner soon.
  9. Not sure these pics will work. A highschool in the Niagara Falls area has created the AC/DC Junk Band, using instruments made from found items...including hockey sticks. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.572988342755114.1073741827.100295090024444&type=1 Wonder what they sound like!
  10. A goal and assist for David last night...and here's what Dallas Eakins had to say after the game (From tsn.ca);
  11. My happy, heads up ball moment of the season: Playing second last week....guy hits a bomb into the gap. He tears around first, TOTALLY misses second, not even close to touching the bag. LF runs down the ball (no fences...they can roll and roll and roll). He throws to the SS who has gone out for the cutoff. I know he wants to try for home...no chance he's getting the guy. I'm screaming TWO TWO!!!! He tosses to me, on the bag. Umpie is right behind me. "Out at 2". NO ONE else on our team, or their team had any clue what was happening. Guy didn't say a word. he knew he missed the bag totally.
  12. Thanks...It's healing nice. Only 2 days and the darkness is starting to fade/peel into the grey tone I wanted.
  13. Leafsrule16: Did you end up getting the Maritime sleeve done? I'd love to see what you ended up doing and how it turned out.
  14. It should heal much softer than that...look very shaded and smokey.
  15. Appointment tomorrow for, what I guess is becoming a half sleeve. Pics later.
  16. Obviously, that's the part they don't get!!!!
  17. haha Thanks. Oh, btw JR...Lawrie's average is creeping up to respectable, but still has a lot of work to do. Hitting .245 after yesterday.
  18. Went to a Blue Jays game today. Got selected to play one of their between innings games and won a Honda lawnmower. Apparently, the thing is worth over $600. Could it be...I'll actually WANT to cut the grass?!?!?
  19. Hahaha..I made another unsolicited Tattoo list. This time, Fox Sports 50 WORST Sports Tattoos. #20: http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/list-gallery?gid=29273&gf=558 Yeah me???? (I guess!) Some of those are absolutely Gawd awful...some are nice (artistically) just poor decisions overall. A giant OJ Simpson mugshot tattoo, really???
  20. Planning on getting some more work done in the coming weeks. I want to do something to combine the Dragon on my shoulder and the "B" on my lower arm to look more like 1 piece, than just 2 separate images. When I mentioned it to my artist, he said "not problem, just smoke the shit out of it!" (guessing that's a tattoo term! ha!). I trust him, but he said he'd free hand and work around what's there...kinda nervous not seeing a sketch first...have to go in and talk to him again before I actually do it. Pics coming eventually. And, I have another idea for one...but placement is a problem. I think it is bigger (or needs to be bigger) than my arms will allow. I was thinking right calf. But, a buddy said that spot is especially painful. I'm not against the idea of pain, it's kinda part of the tattoo experience, just wanna know what I'm in for if I go that way.
  21. Wow...be thankful you work for a company that recognizes ability/initiative and skill. Lots say they do, but there aren't many that ACTUALLY do! Congrats.
  22. ahhh...never really understood what "Escrow" meant. I don't believe we use the term here. At least not in any financial dealings I've ever had.
  23. 3 meetings...2.5 hours, but I think it's all sorted out. An overpayment to Bank X (I'm recovering that amount)...a tax account created at Bank Y using my mortgage money (I'm recovering some of that...they still have to make a property tax payment next month) **not sure if they do this in the States, but up here, the bank can manage/pay your city taxes for you.** When all is said and done, every cent of the $5k is accounted for. Now...I did still over spend on the work by close to a Grand...that's on me...and I didn't fully understand the way the taxes were going to be worked out...Chalk that up to poor 'advising'...in hind sight $113k is what I should have gotten.
  24. So annoyed right now. My mortgage is with Bank X. Bank Y was offering a cash back incentive to move a mortgage. In theory, the cash they give you will cover any penalties/fees (which were calculated at roughly $1200-1500 between the 2 banks) associated with breaking the current mortgage, and in most cases leaves you a little bit left over. So...I needed just over $107,000 (fees included) for my existing mortgage, and I want to do some work at the house, so I add another $5k to the new mortgage ($112k total). The $2200 cash back from the promo gives me just over $7k for the work and fees, and leaves me some extra. Well...the pay out to Bank X was more than I expected and there must be a BANK Y fee or something I was not made aware of when I/we did the math....because out of the $5k I added....I am left with only $1980, and the work ended up totally $5800. (I've already have the work done/paid for). So, even with the $2200 promo cash, I not only don't get to have a little bit left for myself...but my L.O.C is stuck with the difference...which means (drum roll please)...I'm actually paying for at least part of the work on the house TWICE. Once on the mortgage, and once on the L.O.C. Have a meeting with them today to see exactly where the pay out numbers differed from what we talked about...but he knew going in what I needed to do the work. So if the fees weren't going to leave me enough I should have been "Advised" better by this so called Financial Advisor. I kinda expect to get ripped by someone for not having all my math correct, but that's why dumb radio guys go to banking professionals for this stuff...we no damn good at math. /vent
  25. I can't figure out if that means NO ONE wants him or EVERYONE wants him! hmmmmm.....
