  1. I never noticed the pitch, the fit was fine after baking.
  2. Posts deleted, keep the politics off the site.
  3. I've baked two pair of makos for myself, one at 16 minutes and one at 10. There is zero difference in the molding abilities between those times if you are just taking them out of the oven and putting them on.
  4. The first boxes said 16, they now say ten. I have one of each. They would not have done so if 16 minutes was required.
  5. They're Easton skates, why wouldn't you follow their instructions?
  6. Speaking of misinformation, Easton is printing 10 on the box now and says 16 is not needed.
  7. Most of my guys that were on 1/2" thought 100/50 didn't have much bite, almost every one of them prefers 95/75 Some of the companies that make road cases for touring musicians make boxes that would hold an X series. Catch a used one on CL or eBay and you could probably find a deal.
  8. I've missed a couple games due to my work schedule. I miss hanging out with the guys but my ankle and elbow feel better than they have in months

  10. The steel is very hard, holds an edge well.
  11. The "revolver" holds several spinners and mounts on the larger machines. Rather than have to remove one spinner and install another, you just turn the "revolver" and load the one you want. If you are doing a high volume of sharpening, it makes it much easier to change spinners. The time savings are well worth it for high volume shops. They also prevent you from losing track of your spinners.
  12. I wouldn't bake them in a home oven. I baked two pair, one at 16 minutes and one at 10. I think the fit is actually better on the pair that was baked for 10 minutes.
  13. 10 minutes is on the box now and the official instruction from Easton
  14. It may go away after baking, but it may not if the problem is really severe.
  15. no stitches, it was a clean cut and should heal just fine
  16. It's actually healing well, still have a nice inch long red mark about halfway between my hairline and my right eyebrow.
  17. The FC02 allows you to use the Blackstone Shaping System to profile your steel, you can not do that with either of the X series machines.
  18. There is plenty of lateral stiffness, your ankle is not going to roll over in these boots. Most of the people saying that they aren't stiff enough are judging that by squeezing the ankles and seeing that they come together more than something like an NXG or APX. They are seeing a design feature that allows the boot to flex forward and interpreting it as a lack of stiffness.
  19. Nice find. And here you have the MLX tie-in: http://www.vhspeedskating.com/company-info/scott-van-horne/
  20. Superfeet would likely make it worse as they take up more volume.
  21. Nope, none of my steel is rusty and I had my tetanus shot last year. Stings like hell though.
  22. Cleaning up all of the junk I have and I had a skate fall off the top shelf of a rack. Left a nice slice in my forehead.
  23. That's easy. If you can fit in the 9 without pain, go with the 9. Always go with the smallest size that will fit your foot.
