vapors have not worked for my foot, I haven't had them on long enough to really consider the toe cap. The stock insole is fairly thin, any issues with the arch would be with the skate, not the insole. I don't have/use yellow superfeet, so I am unable to post of pic of both.

If you're going new, check into the John Cooper version of the mini.
-
Just sharpened them up a few minutes ago, they seemed to take an edge pretty easily. No cross grind and it seemed to have a nice edge pretty quickly. More sparks than with my pitch steel, but not like with a low end blade. Anything is possible, I didn't like the fit of the Nexus for my foot.

Feels good so far. It opened up for me quite a bit with baking, but that's what I needed. They aren't bad at the ankle, but the depth is an issue along the forefoot.

9.5EE has a 280, same as my 10EE Missions

When spending that much on skates, it's probably worth spending an afternoon, or even a full day, making sure you get it right.

I'll have to check my post again. I baked them both together and then had a pressure point on my left foot as it started to cool. I threw it back in the over for another couple minutes to soften it up. Because of that, it wasn't done at the same time as the right foot. The box only says 200 degrees for 16 minutes on the box, no other instructions were inside or on the box. The box actually says 16 minutes

I wouldn't say that the Mako is narrow. The fit wasn't bad for me before baking and I have a very wide foot. Like most skates, you should try them on and decide for yourself.
-
I wouldn't go with an EE to get more depth.
-
They aren't as deep or wide as the shift 2, but they feel good so far. Given the width of my foot, a stock MLX would not have come close to fitting me. I really like the thin layer of padding on the inside of the boot, it helps make the boot very comfortable.

Brief update on baking posted in the LTR

Either way, talking about what someone else may or may not have done with something that was given to them really isn't the point of this topic or site. Things like this are why I almost always delete any mentions of other websites. Let's get back into discussing the actual product.

Thanks, I haven't been comfortable in Supremes for a while so I had no idea what size I am in them.

Updated the review with the pic of the depth. First time I made it to my desktop all day to upload the pic off my phone.

I'm still really sick. If I could stop coughing up stuff I might be done by now.

Mine arrived this afternoon, I will be starting a topic shortly. I have been planning to start shooting video at some point, but I'm not sure it would actually add anything at this point to do so.

Late summer or early fall I think. My in laws live about 20 minutes west of there, so I stopped in once or twice since then

Only a couple hours down the turnpike

Even mediocre skaters can adapt to a slightly different pitch on skates. If you find you prefer something different, you can always have the steel profiled to address the issue,

When you open a box and look at an item it isn't a review, it's a preview. All you can do is give impressions and read off the spec sheet. That's why the people that do it all tend to sound the same, they don't have anything different to add yet.

Was the other guy an off duty cop? That's the only way he would have avoided serious penalties here, and I'm not that far away.

Without something to compare it to, "more bite" is pretty much irrelevant. They tend to mangle the edges, unless you use just slide them along the outside of the blade. Personally, I don't care for them. For $3 you can pick up a knife sharpening block at harbor freight that will do essentially the same thing without the potential for bending your edges.
-
The feedback I got was that 95/75 had more bite and that was what they preferred about it.

I believe Total Hockey is doing FBV at the store in Robinson, Very few of my guys liked 100/50, most prefer 95/75

There were a lot of people that had width problems with the skates. Then again, I also recall people wearing the wrong size skates and saying how great the fit was with them. Again, it was a good concept, people were mixing up marketing with fact.
