  1. Most of my guys that wanted more grip than 90/75 or 100/50 gave them and less than 100/75 went with 95/75. Once you change the second number, a whole bunch of other "feel" factors get involved and make it hard to compare.
  2. I've been working my ass off lately and have a few days off. I can't believe how much better I feel after a day off.
  3. I'd like to have the opportunity to miss it.
  4. That's just about the thing I miss most about radio. I saw a ton of concerts and only paid for two.
  5. Most of the complaints came from people that were never going to wear them anyway. Now they will have to come up with another reason to bag on them.
  6. Yeah, that's pretty much what I have had to do with my skates for the last decade or so, even with my old Missions and Tacks. When you feel the suction created by pulling your heel out of the boot, you know you have the right fit.
  7. You should be doing that on any boot that fits properly. If it's loose enough that you can get your foot out without undoing a couple laces, it's probably too loose.
  8. It's usually used for the way it looks and it doesn't look good up close.
  9. Since cracking the blade in my custom widow a couple weeks ago, I have gone back to my XN10 shafts the last two games. Tonight, I grabbed the one I used last week and the blade felt loose, so I grabbed the other one. I completely forgot that it wasn't the same curve. With a minute to go in the game, I realized that it was the one with an Andy Delmore pro blade and not my retail Vanek curve. You may be wondering why this isn't in the venting spot, 1G and 2A, that's why.
  10. I have never been a fan of it.
  11. Plus, Troegs is only a couple miles from the arena.
  12. Hershey is a unique situation. They don't play many home games early in the season most years, Plus, there isn't a lot to do here this time of year. The only other sport within an hour is AA baseball and that has been over for a while.
  13. My guess is that those people would say that people will turn out for NHL hockey. I don't believe them, but that's what they would say.
  14. Unfortunately, any composite boot can crack internally when hit with a hard enough shot. Once there is a weakening of the structure, it's just a matter of time before there is a catastrophic failure of the material. Just as with sticks, manufacturers struggle with finding the right compromise between durability, weight and performance.
  15. Mike, I thought you said that the initial problem came from getting hit by a shot?
  16. Because of the way that flex is built in to the skate, I don't believe that it would be a problem with the Mako. It should provide stability without the restriction imposed by the X100 boot.
  17. I actually think that a more significant forward pitch helps skating backwards more than forwards. It helps keep your knees bent and still allows you to sit back on your heels at the same, without causing any balance issues. Are you having the problem with forward flex or trying to bend your ankle sideways? I'm a bit confused as to why lateral stiffness would be an issue.
  18. Not my best day. I found a crack in my E700, there is a chunk missing from the bottom of my custom widow, I forgot my jock when I went o play tonight and had to buy a new one, I couldn't find my wallet before I left for the rink and I tipped a centering pass through my goalie. I hope that I got all of the bad stuff out of my system, I can't handle many more days like this.
  19. I use a stiff bristled brush with just enough force to remove debris without removing the diamond coating. Also make sure that the spinner turns freely when it is dressing the wheel. If you use a lubricating product for the final pass, make sure the wheel gets cleaned up from time to time as well. It doesn't sharpen as well when it is all gunked up.
  20. LS is a direct replacement and I'm sure they could sell the holders/steel to recoup some of the cost as well. I just hate ripping off perfectly good holders and steel.
  21. A profile would be a lot cheaper and faster than new holders.
  22. I have pretty thick ankles as well and never had the slightest issue there.
  23. Picked this up the other day: https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/553139_10201598758467013_1494351757_n.jpg
