did you get screwed by autodraft too ? You would think that the guy that schedules the draft wouldn't schedule it for the same time as one of his games.
-
Given the fact that my other fantasy goalies are Toskala and Vokoun, I'd like to see Halak play a lot more.
-
You are... ugh. Chadd wouldn't approve. oh im sorry. i didnt realize i was arguing for approval. i thought we could just have a legitimate discussion about a hockey play. so sorry. wont happen again. He was censoring himself, the implication being that he was going to use language that I would find inappropriate.

Of course he was contrite after the game and hopefully he never throws another hit like that again. However, there was no concern for the other guy at the time he tried to decapitate Booth.
-
He didn't care what the result was.
-
The hit tonight was worse as it was from the blind side and it looks like he went for the head. Hard to tell with the angles I've seen so far but looks like exactly the type of hit that doesn't belong in the league. The puck is gone and the guy throwing the hit knows it is gone.

Went to see the Bears tonight, Alzner and Carlson both had off nights, as did Neuvirth. Fleischman played but was obviously rusty. You can't put too much into one game but I wouldn't be expecting much help from the group down here unless they all step up in a big way.

He made a couple nice moves to expose the Minnesota defensemen just inside his own blueline. That created a couple odd man rushes and an excellent transition game overall.

Small shop with a BM machine. I would be surprised if you got any other answer. My old partner used to tell people it wasn't an improvement until he got a machine that could do it.

In Pittsburgh? Call them the Ice Steelers.
-
yeah of course people will go just to see it and eat in the restaurants there but pirates are such a dead franchise right now. they have been losing for too many years. Thank you for making my point for me. As long as the team wins, people will go.
-
Just like the New stadium helped the Pirates sell out?
-
It wasn't very long ago when they were struggling to get 10,000 people in the building and that's when the E section was $30 (now $65) and the Igloo seats were $100 (now $185). Pittsburgh fans will show up as long as the team is winning, it is not a market that will thrive under all conditions.

I've watched Pens fans boo Gretzky and cheer for an opposing player (John Leclair) being injured, that is pretty much equal to the santa claus and Michael Irvin incidents that the Eagles fans get hammered for. I was in the igloo for those acts and saw them with my own eyes. The fans were great there when the team sucked, those were the true hockey fans in Pittsburgh and it was a great environment. When teh team does well though, the assholes come out of the woodwork. I watched a drunk guy screaming at a guy in another jersey for 20 minutes while the ushers just stood there and laughed. I've been in a dozen or so arenas and they are the worst that I have experienced, others may have different experiences.

They can't tear down that dump fast enough, though the low hanging section at the end are some of my favorite seats in any arena. how can you call that place a dump. its legendary. everytime i go there it gets better and better. I've been there a dozen time. It's cramped, smelly and a pain in the ass to get upstairs depending on where your seats are. Also some of the most obnoxious sports fans I've ever seen, and I've been to Eagles games.

Second one looks like Hull

Usually you get at least one player move before they axe the coach. taking that into consideration then (and i know its early in the season) who is the first player to go? Start with the guys who were scratched the other night or anyone that has been benched for a significant portion of a game.

Only time I ever did it was my MSH jersey at a game in Nashville

What about whaler jerseys? Ive seen a few at Pens games. But I agree with you So people can only be fans of the two teams playing and not of the sport of hockey as a whole? I've been to a lot of games when my favorite team wasn't playing because I love the sport. Yea, I have no problem with it. When I went to the Wings/Capitals game a couple weeks ago and there was a couple next to us who was in town and decided to go to the game, they knew nothing about the Wings or Caps but jumped out of his seat and cheered when the wings scored! I've been to many a game that didn't involve my two fave teams (Pens/Thrash), but I didn't wear a Thrashers or Penguins jersey to those games. I have a problem with ppl who come to games and wear a jersey (whalers/nords/jets okay by me) who's team is not playing the game. If that bothers you, please see a doctor and get properly medicated.

The same fans that have been banned from traveling because of their rioting? Great example there. Your description here implies a lot more than a little "razzing" and I have witnessed similar acts from "fans". It's mob mentality and behavior that happens any time you can find a way to isolate individuals from the larger group. The fact that it is endorsed and encouraged by some teams is just sad.

i saw the rangers take on the caps almost three years ago at msg (when brashear fought shanny). it was an amazing game, i almost cried at the end because of the emotion and passion those fans had for the game (the goal song (which i got to hear something like 5 times), the timed chants, "sweet caroline" and how the crowd kept singing after the music stopped and play commenced, the crazy dancer in the nose bleeds, etc etc) and dude... there was a guy wearing an ovy jersey a few rows ahead of us, and we were surrounded by blue shirts. they were ABUSING this guy (some fans had their kids involved), and he was taking it... then he turned around and challenged a bunch of the fans, threats started being thrown around and all of a sudden this one rangers fan goes up to him and points to the exit. he says "just leave before they get you" and the guy leaves.... the whole section applauded. it was amazing. no security/hosts involved. coming from vancouver, where all you see in the lower bowl is suits, jet set™ escorts and dudes with aston martins wearing leather jackets and paying $40 to valet at gm place, blackberries and the mascot macking on hot socialite women, and a fuckin inflatable whale dropping lame coupons from sponsors, it was great to see some PASSION and real fans, as opposed to people who were there because its the place to be seen. i dont condone bullying, and i certainly dont partake in it, but it made me realize what being a fan meant.... fanatic. whether or not the team is in vogue doesn't really matter, showing passion/support/loyalty to your team is part of the thrill. That's just being an abusive asshole, it has nothing to do with supporting your team.

You have a very limited amounted time with those guys under their entry level contracts. The price goes up very quickly after that.
