Barely any stores hold much in the way of goalie inventory. It is simply too expensive and low in demand to warrant a the outlay to carry a large inventory. Besides, most goalies prefer to order something in order to get the exact specs that they want.

P28 is the anti-Drury and a curve that I watch most beer leaguers struggle with. Pro stocks are always available in a Drury/YP/P91A.

With the liberties Faksa was taking with Bergeron and such, no surprise Marchand got a little excited. No mention of the super "don't you know who I am" slash by Spezza that led to Clifton taking him down though.

CCM is looking to get into the "quick release blade" arena.

Let's see if he goes for the trifecta in his first game back again.

Boroweicki calls out Gallagher one day for dangerous hit then elbows a guy in the face in his next game. How much do glass houses sell for in Ottawa? He'll be talking to the discipline committee.

I guess someone is trying to boost their post count. By the way, something like this would be in the "Gear Sightings" thread.

I'm all for the Caps being unhappy with Marchand basically jumping Eller and wouldn't be surprised if Marchand's wallet gets a little lighter but comparing it to Wilson's latest indiscretion underscores the problems with teammates defending and/or rationalizing actions instead of condemning them. We will never remove head shots when teammates think like this. Oshie compared Marchand's actions to those which landed his teammate a 20-game suspension on Wednesday and said he trusts the league to "take care of business" with the Bruins forward. "[The NHL] set the standards, they want to get the dirty stuff out of the game," Oshie explained. "Which I think at least Tom's play was on the ice and he was hitting the guy that had the puck milliseconds before. And then you see tonight the sucker punches that Lars took in. So they kind of set the standard.

It is his 4th forced vacation in about 14 months. The Caps might be regretting that long term deal they gave him this summer.

No established player is going to fight in the preseason these days. Fighting is going the way of the dodo and a guy like Ekblad is just trying to get his game legs and not get hurt before the season starts. He isn't going to risk his hands or anything else in a meaningless preseason game. His demeanor was obvious and Domi decided to be a punk.

Max Domi to have a hearing for a sucker punch on Aaron Ekblad. I wonder where he learned that one. https://www.tsn.ca/domi-to-have-hearing-with-player-safety-after-punching-ekblad-1.1176226 For some reason, this old commercial comes to mind............

And this Sharks combination is better. Thornton must be thrilled. This gives him the best chance at a Cup that he ever had or will have.
-
I believe that was sarcasm.

They could possibly present options but I'm sure each team has final say in what gets used.
-
I'm not sure there has ever been a more potent offensive combination on one blueline.

I hate the Johnny Tryhards.

When one of the teams that you're on has won only 2 games since February (with a couple of hard fought ties thrown in), the team you beat in those 2 games is no longer in the league, and the league still fights against moving your team down a division.

Is the name of the rink "Blue Oyster"?

October is the best time to be in New England, hands down.

A friend of mine was shipping out to Afghanistan and his boss at the time asked him why he would want to go. He told the boss, "I would rather get shot at every day for a year than work another day for you."

Stick length and lie should be a function of how you hold your hands during play and where you like to have the puck in relation to your body. There is no hard and fast rule for stick length such as to your nose without skates or the like. I prefer sticks on the shorter side and mine are nowhere close to my nose without skates. Figure out what you are comfortable with and then pick your length and lie from there.

Sorry to hear, Dave.

Most towns have their hockey associations that are available for ages up to U18 and will play in the same few rinks for the league that they participate in playing against other towns.

Davideo wrote: "Now kids are pushing to try to get on a junior C team, or having press releases for committing to a DIII school that is essentially a community college." So that rinky-dink university I attended that had DIII hockey at the time, Fairfield University, was essentially a community college? Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry to hear that. Back when my mom passed she had been declining for a while due to small strokes and dimentia. It was strange when the day actually came because we had basically slowly been grieving the loss of her for a couple of years as her mind was lost long before her body.
