  1. And there shouldn't be much of that happening with more of the holders having uniform hole patterns.
  2. While you may not want to settle, I would recommend that you take an "add some experience to your resume" position for a year or two. It is always easier to find a job when you have a job.
  3. I'm guessing he is referring the the standard white color accents on the side of the boot.
  4. Let's not bring race into this.
  5. If you can't rely on someone sharpening your skates at a consistently high level then it doesn't matter if the pitch is built into the boot or done with profiling/lifts. A butchered pitch of the blade by a sharpener will negate whatever original setup you had.
  6. I say make them hop in the DeLorean.
  7. Strangely, I found the new K line gave me better volume and forefoot room than the Tacks line.
  8. This is definitely a fair point.
  9. If you wanted to spend more time in port then I'd recommend trying a NY to Bermuda itinerary. Those generally give you a day or two at sea each way and then 3 days/2 nights docked at Bermuda. If you're looking for less glitz then you'd need to step up a couple of rungs on the cruising ladder to Princess/Celebrity/Holland. Every step you go up in price you lose in riff raff on board.
  10. JR is dead on. Most of the time when people find out they hate cruising what it really means is they hate that particular cruise line. Different lines cater to different clienteles and the secret to enjoying one is to first know what you want/don't want in a cruise and select the line based on those likes/dislikes. Like any other vacation planning, a little research goes a long way and as much as online is killing the industry, working thru a travel agent can save some headaches in finding what fits your tastes.
  11. Ah, the joys of family. I got the pleasure of a last minute notice that my sister-in-law was bringing her 5 year old granddaughter for 4 days. Awesome.
  12. We've even gone 6 and 2 a few times when we've only had 8 show up. It actually works out better than going 5 and 3 because it keeps the forwards fresh and that can make up for the 2 D getting a little winded here and there.
  13. If you're running 3 D well then it should work out to about 3 minute shifts (stop time) with 1 1/2 minutes on the bench. The 2 ways you can run into problems is if 1 guy either takes really short shifts or really long shifts. I find I'm much more into the game when we play with 3 D as opposed to 4.
  14. 10 guys is the max I'll play with. The team I play forward on, 2 full lines works best. When I play defense I prefer to go with 3. Sometimes 4 D can be too many depending on the game.
  15. Sounds like a decent way to run it. My teams just run text chains.
  16. Wouldn't that be mathematically impossible?
  17. In short, it is ok to pirate if you personally feel the going rate is too high. Got it.
  18. There's a reason why in the beer league/pick up hockey circle that names like "Johnny Try Hard" and "Charlie Hustle" aren't compliments.
  19. You've covered two taboo plays in pick-up hockey; jabbing at the goalie and shooting head high. I'm guessing next will be guys hooking all over the ice and the guy who whacks your stick when you're nowhere near the play.
  20. Because they're still paying DiPietro?
  21. Every team I've seen in these parts that have had one guy pay for the entire team have always been dissolved because guys don't show up.
  22. The thinking is probably that a fit center will cut down on return/tweeks from home tracings.
  23. Adoption wouldn't be cheaper or less of a hassle.
  24. You want to avoid rush hour since you're at a heavy intersection of 495 and 295 and not too far from where the Mass Pike meets with 495.
