A deal too good to be true usually is. People chasing savings on these cut rate sticks typically end up spending more and having much eorse experiences than if they just went eith close-out or price point respected manufacturers.

Carlson is most likely gone. He will be fetching huge money on the market as there are basically no other high end defensemen out there this year. There are trade rumors around some guys but nothing else in the free agent market to speak of. And I don't find the past two months to be a waste of time. There were some great series and performances. The only disappointment for me is that the playoffs are over and it is 4 months until puck drop.

Cam Ward and Jonathan Bernier will also be at the top of the scrap heap. Until they develop someone on their own the Isles are probably damned to a little more time of goaltending by committee. There are plenty of quality 4-6 defensemen that will be available this summer, though John Carlson is about the only option at the 1-2 slot. Did he ever luck out with his timing of going UFA.

Or they just spend the money that Kovalchuk would cost on a goalie or top 4 defenseman.

They were tied for 7th in the league in goals scored per game and 4th worst in goals allowed per game.

The Islanders don't need Kovalchuk. They need help preventing goals and Kovalchuk definitely isn't the guy to do that.

I had said back in the second round that I was surprised the Vegas defense hadn't wilted......well, they've started making some costly mistakes and their top scorers are being shut down by the Caps. Maybe the glass slipper doesn't fit after all.

The hockey equipment industry as a whole is in a bad place on the retail side. Without team sales many places wouldn't be around and that includes some well known shops around these parts.

Quite the contrary. I think if you've followed the full story you'd see I was arguing against those who were bitter about one thing or another Vegas hockey related.

I wouldn't think that little of a change in runner length would affect your skating. Because of where a profile will place your contact points, you shouldn't really feel just a one size drop in runner length. If you are running out of length at the toe or heel then you're probably going way too far out over them.

How about you just open two windows on your computer screen and, voila, there you have it. Some see problems, I see solutions.

My doubt comes from the fact that everyone prefers a different stick length and I'm thinking certain lengths would be more optimal than others based on the curved design. It is a new idea and who knows but I don't think it will catch on.

I think you've got something confused with your fit profile. I don't think anyone would describe the Supreme as narrow and low volume but that is what you say you are looking for.

Narrow and low volume? I think you're skipping the one CCM that should fit the bill for you with the 70K.

And here I've been told goaltending is mostly irrelevent these days.
