  1. For a guy who didn't believe in fate, Morpheus sure put a lot of stock in a prophecy and things happening the way they were supposed to.
  2. I couldn't stand Orpik. "Opportunistic" hitter that wouldn't back up iffy shots.
  3. Interesting deal between the Flyers and Caps, swapping Gudas and Niskanen.
  4. I've never seen a player fan on more one-timers than Pastrnak did throughout the playoffs. I speculated early on that perhaps his earlier hand injury had something to do with it but who knows. Between Pastrnak's whiffs and the poor decision making by him and Marchand, it seems to be somewhat of a miracle the Bruins did as well as they did.
  5. There was nothing egregious but just about every trip up and down the ice had its share of regular season penalties. Both teams know this going in and it does limit offensive chances.
  6. I think O'Reilly was the hands down choice and the voters got it right, no matter how hard NBC was pushing the Binnington narrative. I think I would even have selected Pietrangelo over Binnington.
  7. To be fair, it wasn't refereed, it was watched by referees. Everyone knows going in that game 7 will be essentially free reign which is what makes scoring first so important in a game 7. It is almost impossible to mount a comeback when hooking/holding/interference are all legal in game 7. Not a complaint, just an observation. If someone had gone to Hollywood with the script that the Blues wrote this season they would have been laughed out of the office. From last place on January 3rd to lifting the Cup on June 12th, that is an amazing story.
  8. Not exactly the way this Bruins fan wanted to be 6 degrees to a Stanley Cup champion but congratulations to David.
  9. O'Reilly was the clear choice, Binnington would have been the cop out selection.
  10. Blues wrote a great story, last place to Stanley Cup champions.
  11. You knew whoever got the lead would win in an "anything goes" game 7. Impossible to play catch up hockey when interference and the like are ignored. Good on the Blues for getting the lead because it would have been the same had roles been reversed.
  12. I like Heinen's game. He does a lot of the subtle things well. The only possible change I see would be inserting Grzelcyk if he gets cleared to play.
  13. As history has shown, game 7 will probably be one of the loosest games in terms of penalties. I think they'll fall back on the standard of whether the action took away a scoring opportunity or created a scoring opportunity. Anything else, unless absolutely blatant or dangerous, will be play on.
  14. This is sounding a lot like what was being said after game 3. I wouldn't write-off the Blues at all.
  15. All a matter of perspective. The Bruins had much better energy and did a good job of protecting and eliminating open ice. Once again, the team that played with more jump won the game. Game 7 will be interesting. Will the Bruins steamroll the Blues in the opening 10 or will the Blues play another great road game and spoil the party?
  16. As the great orator Deadpool exclaimed, "Who fucking cares?"
  17. If I just say "you're right" will you shut the fuck up about this?
  18. Revenge mode for an uncalled trip? No such thing. The Bruins will be too concerned with forcing a game 7 than anything else.
  19. Barbashev has been suspended 1 game for the hit on Johansson.
  20. There hasn't been a single analyst that has agreed with your "embellishment" routine and didn't feel a trip should have been called. I watch the play in real time, slow motion, frame by frame, however you like and I see a trip. There is a saying that people who explain too much are doing so because they are trying to prove to themselves that they are right.
  21. Acciari was essentially out of the play trying to get his bearings back. Once that happens guys have to try and make up for it and that leads to people getting out of position which leads to breakdowns and 2 on 1's developing. The remaining upright bodies played on but they were at a man disadvantage. Had Acciari been fully functional it would have been 5 on 5 and a whole different situation. But you're right, he dove, embellished, and caused the goal. As for your comment about "content". I think I was clear in that I found your assertion that Acciari's fall was out of sync with the contact from Bozak hilarious and suggested you apply to a noted comedy sketch show about openings on their writing staff.
  22. It wasn't that they stopped playing, they just had to deal with a change in possession and essentially being a player down with Acciari shaking the cobwebs after landing on his back. That created the 2 on 1 down low which ultimately resulted in the goal.
  23. The timing is all out of sync????? Call SNL, because with material like that you could put the show back on the map.
  24. There has been plenty of embellishment to go around but Acciari going arse over teakettle wasn't one of them. It isn't too often that a spotter pulls a guy from the game on a dive. Now, Tarasenko's sell of the head check that wasn't to get a call on Clifton, that was another story. https://larrybrownsports.com/hockey/vladimir-tarasenko-embellishment-flop-penalty/498570
