Catalogue Review 2016 True Hockey Catalogue
chippa13 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
Had a feeling JDK was back in the game with some of the previous comments in the True thread. Welcome back, still blown away by the SJ "samples" from the other gig. -
Stationary vs skating are going to feel competely different after a long period of time. Just ask anyone who has worked a youngsters clinic or reffed a slow moving, one-sided game.
-
I believe the CCM Speedblade holders have a pattern that lines up with Easton and TUUK patterns.

I'd wager most pros simply get sized and do minimum, if any, tweaking of "custom" items when it comes to skates. Today's retail boots mold very well. -
Baking may let your foot settle a little into the ankle padding but I wouldn't pin any hopes on adding appreciable length.
-
So the dozens of posts in this thread that say you must bake before trying on to find the right size.............

I've hemmed and hawed due to the fit idea and coming with TUUKs but this thread has kept me from jumping in. I think now that the Mako IIs wll be marking down it won't be so painful to pop the TUUKs on. -
No Icing also shows them marked down on their site.

There is a guy on one of the teams that we play against who always tends to be overly aggressive and does some cheap things with the "what did I do?" reaction. I don't think there is a guy on our team who doesn't chop or pull some other little maneuver on him anytime we get the chance. We tell him and the one or two teammates of his who still strangely defend him exactly why he is getting the treatment. He is the only guy on his team that we treat that way. The funny thing is even the refs know how much of a dick the kid is so there is a bit of leeway in what transgressions against him are called.
-
From the size of that swing, I'm not sure staying up was an option.
-
I think you should still be covered ok having the Makos probably for another couple of years, at least until all of the spare parts and excess inventories are depleted. It isn't like they're tossing all the Mako stuff into the incinerator.
-
He really seems to be struggling to find where fits in a roster. He's got second line skill but coaches just keep bouncing him around the top 9. It has to be frustrating. It would be nice to see what he can do with some continuity.
-
The leagues I've done here, the captain would have heard from the league after having a couple of guys run off for abusing the refs. Also, getting a game misconduct for that offense comes with an automatic game or two. It helps when the league will back up the refs.
-
Need another new photo for the banner.
-
They can't say that you were out to get them if you set the ground rules before the game and let them know what the standard will be. If you don't tell the captain anything before the game and just call it at a stricter standard than the previous game then they will have a beef.
-
In that case, if you get that team again then grab the captain before the game and let him know that you shouldn't have to and will not tolerate the events of the last game again. That way when you sent the first guy off early in the game they'll know that you mean business and should learn their lesson. Sometimes as refs we can be our own worst enemies when we shrug off too much stuff early in a game. Set the standard early in the game and be consistent. If that doesn't work then they can enjoy the parade.
-
Since you say the team was all over you the whole game, it might be a good idea the next time to try and settle them down earlier. Pull their captain aside and let him know what's what in a calm and clear manner. Of course, there are some teams that will never settle and you just have to climb the ladder on one or two of them before they finally get the hint.
-
I must say that I'm intrigued by these, especially since I've got some extra space above my toes in my RS. Are they only available from the company or are there any LHS carrying these?
-
I disagree with the price factor. There are plenty of kids in top level Bauer and CCM skates. It took CCM a long time to get back to being considered a player again in the skate category and I think Easton is still trying to recover from some stumbles.
-
I'm wondering if they're just going to blow the whole thing up in Pittsburgh and start all over. I've always thought of Sullivan as a "young player" coach.
-
Fit and mobility are completely the forefront of the skate. The pitch scares off a lot of potential converts. If they offered a more traditional pitch then you'd see older beer leaguers buying into them in droves.
-
I think if Easton offered the Mako with the RB2 holder then there might be more folks in them. A lot of players don't want to switch to such an aggressive pitch.
