Weight should not be the determining factor in stick flex. It should be leverage, form, and strength.- 114 replies

It will be interesting to see Matthews flourish in his second organization.

Tech wasn't their problem. They had plenty of people in their traditional skates. The issue was quality control.

Speaking as a potential customer, please do what it takes to gain some confidence driving the bus.

And yet I've been able to see every minute of the first round. Weird.

If I'm remembering correctly, the RBZ sizing wasn't so much a strategy as it was a screw up that they decided to live with.

That version you had on the ZL stick was like someone reached into my dreams. -

One of the first things I do once I'm set on keeping a pair of shin is cut off the straps. If you're happy with everything else about the pads then don't let the straps dissuade you. -

Well, since you're adding patterns to the discussion, I will add my broken record request for anyone to bring back the Iginla. -
That's almost as bad as that guy who is always trying to coach between periods but has absolutely no clue where to be or what to do on the ice.

Beer league and game plan are two phrases seldom seen in the same sentence, unless it is, "who the hell bothers to come up with a game plan in beer league?"

That might not be the only new look for Ladd this week. -
Colleagues who take forever and a day to do something that should take 5 minutes.

Judging by the number of sticks that I've seen around the beer leagues around here, I'd say people are buying into True. That should translate into some early adopters into the gloves. I think what is helping True get the foothold better than some other "new guys" is that they can point to some of their OEM successes and draw people in. "Remember that {insert stick here} that you loved? That was us." Definitely helps. -

Had a feeling JDK was back in the game with some of the previous comments in the True thread. Welcome back, still blown away by the SJ "samples" from the other gig. -
Stationary vs skating are going to feel competely different after a long period of time. Just ask anyone who has worked a youngsters clinic or reffed a slow moving, one-sided game.

I believe the CCM Speedblade holders have a pattern that lines up with Easton and TUUK patterns.

I'd wager most pros simply get sized and do minimum, if any, tweaking of "custom" items when it comes to skates. Today's retail boots mold very well. -
Baking may let your foot settle a little into the ankle padding but I wouldn't pin any hopes on adding appreciable length.
