  1. Not necessarily. They may feel that increasing the price in Canada would adversely impact demand. Essentially, they are taking a hit on Canadian sales while riding out the exchange variances.
  2. I guess you decided not to read the line of the VH post that stated all of their materials costs are in USD. Just because a company is based and has its operations in one country, that does not guarantee that all of their costs would be in that country's currency.
  3. You realize that you are complaining about how every company that does business on both sides of the border prices. You have to think of this as if they had 2 store fronts, one in the US and one in Canada. None of the other hockey companies fluctuate their prices to account for exchange rates. There is a reason that the major players put restrictions on sellers on either side of the border from making sales on the other.
  4. He probably viewed it as a reckless and perhaps even out of control action. These kind of things occur more often in the lower divisions of leagues.
  5. By charging Canadian buyers a fixed price in CAD, yes, that is what is happening. But it would be a tough business decison for them to increase their CAD prices because the incomes of Canadian buyers don't fluctuate with the exchange rate. If the CAD exchange drops then Canadian businesses don't increase what they pay employees to make up for it.
  6. So, if I am reading this correctly. The price for a US buyer would be $900 USD. Based on today's exchange rate that translates to $1,148 CAD. Even if you factor in $50 CAD of free shipping and handling for US consumers the company is still making an additonal almost $200 CAD on a pair sold to a US buyer versus a Canadian buyer. Since they seem to spend most of their materials dollars in USD, it makes sense to keep the US price steady because then you are matching revenue and expense dollars. With the exchange rates as they are, the company is essentially losing money on CAD sales revenues since they are paying out USD. This is the dilemma of Canadian based NHL teams and a big reason why the last iteration of the Winnipeg and Quebec NHL teams moved south of the border.
  7. It might not be a bad idea to let her see the doctor once on her own before returning as a couple. It might be a little easier for her to have the conversation and discuss those things without knowing you are looking at her with the "Where have I heard this before?" face. In all fairness, you did swing your stick like an axe. I'm surprised he didn't immediately give you one across the hands or somewhere on the legs.
  8. Well, a band is like a marriage and we all know how Marty does with that.
  9. Come on, you know you'd rather be the Whitey Bulger of sharpenings.
  10. I'm starting to think I'm not blocking them so much as I'm a target.
  11. No Icing uses an automated system and people are plenty happy with their results.
  12. It took me 2 google searches to even know what that vent was about. And now the NSA is probably tracking all of my internet activity.
  13. A member that I have unfortunately been a little too busy to connect with is a part of this.
  14. Since you ask, twice in the last 2 weeks I have had guys look at my 1 1/2 year old RS skates and ask if I got new skates.
  15. "bthompson1286 said: for someone who uses easton skates, you should shut up. are you a bender that needs to get back at someone. how old you are? looking at your picture, a washed up old man. Stop being a prick" Yeah, really looks like I'm the one who needs to grow up.
  16. I know I can't wait to spend $800 on skates I have to tape together.
  17. Like I always say, it the t-shirt is that important to you then you can have it.
  18. Be up front with the guy, tell him exactly why you need to be sized and offer a little something for the effort. You're getting free skates so throwing the guy $30 or so to size you up is still a bargain.
  19. That's a pretty good day. Finding an Ignila RSII on ebay.
  20. If he is pulling on really cold skates then his ankle can't settle into the padding when he first ties them. Then as his feet warm up the skate a little the padding will soften a little and it will feel looser.
  21. If it felt easy then you didn't challenge or push yourself.
  22. Lots of people don't know they have it.
  23. I wouldn't say that shims are the ideal solution. Speaking for myself, I prefer not to add extra material between my foot and the ice as it takes away some of that feel.
  24. Beating a team that likes to run it up 4-0 with 6 guys.
