  1. People need to consider what they would like to do when they get out of college as much as, if not more than, what they would like to learn while in college when selecting a major.
  2. Sounds like an overprotective reason to hold a kid back. She won't hear anything in the room that she doesn't hear from her older sister and friends anyway. If she can handle the play then let her play.
  3. Looks like with a little heel shaving I'll have my new RS skates dialed in. Might need a rebake but they were worlds better last night after shortening the radius.
  4. Is the "Rubber" texture offered on the Q series something similar to what was on the old Louisville shafts/sticks?
  5. Dialing in new skates, do I shave the toe and heel or shorten the radius? Decisions....Decisions.
  6. AHL teams around here have been doing that for a few years now. Grass roots marketing.
  7. Are these kind of things happening to teammates and/or other guys in the league? If not then perhaps the issue could be how you're playing that is making you a target.
  8. It isn't teens they are trying to draw in with all black skates, it is the traditionalists.
  9. Grown men acting like high school girls.
  10. Cardinal rule of new skates: Do not get rid of the old ones until you are sure the new ones are going to work for you.
  11. Sunday afternoon AHL games always struggle during the NFL season.
  12. Slow driving nut jobs who take it personally when you finally pass them on the right.
  13. If Easton follows their usual M.O. then the V9 will be the next iteration of their tapered shaft/blade setup.
  14. It will still keep the blade from opening up during shots. Proper shots still have the puck spin across the blade from mid/heel to toe. Guys known for "heavy shots" that still break thru goalies do so because they generate a lot of spin on the puck.
  15. Read it again, the Lidstrom is a heel-shooting pattern. Try a couple off of the toe and you'll see why.
  16. Heat the entire ankle area and then tie the skates making sure that the tightness is consisistent all the way up the eyelets. The problem you're most likely having is that the top eyelets are pulling tighter/closer together than those below it, causing the top of the boot to turn in and abrade your ankle.
  17. It is similar down here with property taxes. That is the escrow amount I was referring to. Part of my "mortgage" payment each month includes an amount that is held in escrow to pay property taxes.
  18. It sounds like the "advisor" dropped the ball when helping you plan. I put it in quotes because sometimes these advisors are just folks who took a night class and passed a simple exam. The only thing I can think of is that you didn't have that much in escrow with Bank X which would have been your's when breaking the mortgage and so when Bank Y was looking for the money that they required in escrow they just yanked it out of the excess of your loan since you weren't cutting a check.
  19. The Iginla has been the E7. Are you saying that the E7 no longer exists going forward? If the closest thing will be the Landeskog clone then Easton will have lost me and my only option will be the Bauer P12 through MyBauer.
  20. I don't know that St. Louis got fleeced. Paajarvi is still young and on the rise and with Edmonton's track record the last few years, that second round pick could be a round 1 prospect for round 2 money. I think the deal was good for both teams and players.
  21. He struggled last season and tumbled down the depth chart. Hopefully, he can rebound with the change of scenery.
