I'm not sure what the stock radius is on STEP, the other guys will know better. All I can tell you is that my transition from a 9" rocker to Quad Zero was seamless. Might want to try the Quad1 from what I'm reading....
-
what is your skate profile now? which steel?
-
Just for an update... I was LS2 with a base 9ft rocker at 100/75. I ordered STEP steel. On JR's suggestion I went to a quad 0 and sharpened the at 100/50. Got them today ad wet fora quick few laps at public session. Played a game tonight and felt amazing. Better cornering, more stable. More glide. A home run!!! Very happy!!! I had been worried about losing grip dropping to 100/50 but the increased amount of steel in contact with the ice negates any loss of grip.

On JR's suggestion I will be moving to a Quad 0 in the next week... just waiting to get my new steel back.... I'd be happy to share my experiences as well.

I love cruises. I always have something to do. Lots of choices. I meet cool people. Leaving on one on Saturday and can't wait.

Left last night. Never even said thank you or good bye. Costs: Carpet ripped up and stained, comforter destroyed, quilted blanket destroyed, dog stressed, Thanksgiving ruined. Brother in law now banned for life. What a D-CK.

Wife decided to not listen to me.. again... and decided it was a good idea to let her brother in law say with us for Thanksgiving and bring his dog. My dog is 10 years old and has never had a another dog in the house. This was doomed to failure and I am beyond stressed because my dog keeps barking and his dog keep whining and this is not going well. Maybe my wife will learn to listen to me now... what the fuck am I saying... I know she won't.

We keep 15 on the roster. The team likes to play with either 12 or 13. 10 is fine too. We always have guys who miss for one reason or another so it never becomes a problem except maybe come playoffs. We always go 4D. The pace is fast and guys get tired late in the game. On the team I play D for the pace is not so fast but we are not that good either so it takes more effort. 4D in that situation works well.

Just returned home from my teams annual Montreal tournament. In 10 years we have never won more that a game but this year we had a special squad. We went undefeated and won the championship outscoring our opponents by a combined score of 20-4. I put a lot of time into planning these and when the boys all have so much fun is beyond gratifying. Two of my best friends have been dealing with serious back injuries and both were able to play. One, typically a center, was far less an impact player than he usually is but he battled and contributed. The other, our goalie, played the best hockey I have seen him play in 10 years. It was an incredible performance and I am so happy for him. As for me, just happy to be injury free and do what I can out there. Such a great weekend... details will remain in Montreal!!!

Try Isagenix.

I have battled some weight issues my whole life. By 9th grade I was over 200 lbs and in college over 220. Early on in my marriage in my late 20s I was up to 254. I have yo-yo'd around once dropping 60 to get to a low of 194 but then went back to 227. A year and a half ago I was convinced to try a cleanse system called Isagenix. In one month I went from around 218 to 203. Over the last year or so I kept a lot of but I was back to 216 in September when my wife, who also battles weight, said; "Hey lets do Isagenix again." I jumped at it knowing I was going to play in a tournament in November. My goal was to be 198 by the time I stepped on the ice in Montreal. Today I woke up and I was 199.5! I haven't been this light in about 20 years and even then it was only for a short period of time. I know I will reach that goal and I truly believe this time I have learned what I need to do and will change my lifestyle and keep it off. It's such an great feeling!!!!

Because I like them. LS3s have an odd profile. LS4s I had a bad experience with. Might not have been the height as there were many factors at play but I have been nervous to change ever since.

I can attest!!!! -
lol... doubtful... I've been playing terribly lately. Even for me.

This usually gets them to slide off nice and easy... I do it all the time and I've never marred a helmet before... oh well... The Nexus V-Cut is actually built on the X90 last which is pretty much the same as the 7.0 and the other tech mesh Vapor legacy skates. They take your measurements and build your own completely custom last based off of that base. I always wore a EE Vapor but had some volume issues and it was also a tad wide so I was less stable. These new skates fit MUCH closer to my foot and as a result I am much more sold on my skates. Cornering and turns are much sharper (well... as sharp as my turns are gonna be! ). The break in process continues and they get better at each skate.
-
Big month for me. @JR Boucicaut fitted me for custom Bauer Nexus V-Cuts at SJ and they came in about 3 weeks ago. I've been working through the break in process and the fit is unreal. I never realized how loose the fit was in my old skates. Kinda hurst like hell getting there because they are so much tighter then I was used too but well worth it. I already feel performance benefits. Details: Custom Nexus V-Cuts. Stock Nexus lining (wanted the new 1x grip-tec but couldn't get it). built in comfort edge (can't really see it), memory foams in ankles and heel pocket. Using LS2 steel and Edge holder. When I was baking them I also popped for these.... figured what the heck... If that wasn't enough decided to upgrade buckets and bought a back and white Re-Axt combo. (yup... marred and melted the bucket taking off the sticker... oh well....) No need to take pics of the white one..... Like I said... big month.... fun!!!

My recovery was quicker and perhaps my issues less complicated. I was skating in circles at 4 months. Playing at 6 months and I'd say 100% at i year. If you really have no cartilage left he might be considering microfracture surgery. That's a hole 'nother kettle of fish!!! Make sure your doc has lots of experience with this and has been a team orthopedic surgeon.
-
I had surgery for my FAI and had great results. I was 45. @Wolfpack_1986 also had the surgery. My experience tells me that the shot will not help you. I tried it too. Find the best doc you can. Phillipon in Colorado and Kelly in NYC are the 2 best. I have a guy on LI who is also excellent thank God... Good luck

Got the shot of me popping the water bottle! Nice! -
Back on the ice tonight and played decently after getting my legs in the 1st period and getting used to my wonky knee. Felt so good to be back. Yes the groin is still tight and the meniscus is still torn but god damn it, it's hockey!!!!
