  1. and the shell collection continues to grow.....
  2. and some really hard to find speedwicks:
  3. because I feel like being a show-off, current pics of my growing shell collection: *Devils and Surrey minor hockey shown twice to make collage pics even numbers this is probably about 85% of what I've been looking for. still have a few teams left to go..... :)
  4. that depends on your situation. I bought a Wissota over 10 years ago for somewhere in the $600-$700 range. here in ATL the rink shops are notorious for doing poor sharpenings. at that time we only had one non-rink shop in town and it was probably 35 miles from my house and not open on Sundays. if you couldn't get up there on Saturday you were SOL and of course at a 70 mile round trip we couldn't just leave our skates if they were busy so we invested in the Wissota and not only did our own skates but also did skates for teammates and friends at $5 per. the machine has paid for itself several times over just in the $5 charge not to mention the savings in gas and the wear and tear on my car.
  5. I'm very excited to get my Sparx sharpener. I think I'll be in the 2nd or 3rd wave.......
  6. modest haul from the Atlanta Gladiators sale on Monday:
  7. new custom Eagle stuff......
  8. not sure why it took me so long to find Bruins stuff.....
  9. another shell acquired:
  10. switched to girdle/shell last Fall. been picking up shells ever since. here's a few:
  11. Chris Bourque Bruins Luxe, freshly repalmed: Thrashers Warrior bag:
  12. seriously. shells are easy to store. try storing pants!
  13. I should've known you were the one who nabbed those Hawks Versteegs! odd cuff on those things though.....
  14. my gf ASKS me to make her sticks like this. we pick up broken sticks from taller teammates, flip them over and insert a composite blade in the top. we call them Frankensticks. :)
  15. yep, those of us who backed it early got a better price. a reward for helping them get up and running if you will.
  16. great logo but the cut of that jersey looks odd. kind of like when Reebok first went with the tighter jerseys. I'd love to see one when you get the finished product.
  17. Dodgers jerseys are SWEET!
  18. nice looking gloves except for that little piece of plastic. looks like a snot rocket landed on the gloves.... ;)
  19. actually they will. I did custom Eagles back in the Spring and Jesse was a pleasure to work with.
  20. you may have missed mine in the custom glove gallery recently: Eagle was great and allowed me every modification that I asked for. I asked for a 13" version of the H34 which basically they did. it's a CP94 made entirely of goat with -3/4" on the cuff and -1/4" on the fingers and the "Hossa" or "twist" cuff. they only thing they messed up was that I wanted my number on the undercuff and they put it on the front. gloves are so awesome that I didn't even care. as for breathability, I used them for the first time Sunday and boy, were they HOT! I wanted to go as authentic as possible though so these will probably just end up being Winter gloves. oh, and don't bother asking Gus. he left there months ago. still great people working there though.
  21. Eagle knocks it out of the park! CP94 dressed as H34 in 13", -3/4" cuff, -1/4" on the fingers
  22. well yes, I'm sure that was the purpose. I certainly didn't mean to imply that Warrior was trying anything shady. I'd like to see the other versions if they ever hit the light of day.
  23. they did but the designs were more generic than this. the thumb logo on these is pretty much a direct rip-off of the Molson logo.
