As someone who has had to have reconstructive foot surgery on both feet due to genetically collapsed arches, I'll definitely be looking at these for my next skates.
-
They look like a video game design for a holder if they couldn't get the rights to real-life holders.
-
Not a fan of those holders at all. I do like the tongue and toe box/branding though.

Amen to that, a lot of guys in the NHL too: Gretzky, Kurri, McSorley, Bossy, Huddy, Pivonka, Stastny, Goulet, Krivokrasov, Larionov. Once Goulet crashed head-first into the boards and was seriously injured, that helmet's days were numbered :(

BADASS.

Not pictures, but an instagram link with videos of me trying out the True XC9 ACF (which I love, BTW. Amazing stick). Would have been nice if goalies showed up, but that's what usually happens at pickup out here.

Found an old Kovalchuk Dolemite replacement blade at a rink pro shop yesterday, couldn't believe my eyes. I love this pattern and lie and now they are more rare than ever since Warrior is phasing the shaft/blade line out. They had 4 other ones in LH (Lidstrom, Jovo (2) and Kovalchuk) but only one RH and thankfully it was the Kovalchuk :)

Iginla gloves seemed to work out for me, 5 goals in my first game with them... got the HOF power now :)
-
Ah, I thought they were rightys.

You should get in touch with Mike Green's agent.

I scored a pair of game used Iginla CCM pro stocks from the Kings equipment sale last Saturday for $100(!) They are in great shape with literally zero smell whatsoever. I am assuming they were originally made for MacKinnon. I am debating on using them or just keeping them for display... they are kinda roomy inside because he had some of the padding removed but they still feel great. It's amazing how broken in they are, I got a really good deal. And even better, I was able to photo-match them with some games with the Avalanche where he wore them.

Someone got this pic of me getting ready to wind up in our President's Day tournament. The next game, I tore my MCL but I am back in action now. I now have some retro LAK Bauer 4-rolls and our whole team got matching retro LAK shells from the Jr. Kings, it looks pretty slick :)

They have a bunch of them in stock at Giant in Anaheim too :)

CCM Super Tacks Skate Initial Thoughts
Fletch replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Yeah, I got to see Leon one last time in December and shook his hand and wished him well. Gonna miss that guy and everything he did for all of us out here. I'm wondering if my stitching issues could be covered under warranty though... gotta check on that. -
CCM Super Tacks Skate Initial Thoughts
Fletch replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
The Super Tacks are still the best skate I've ever worn, but I have to say I'm pretty pissed off at the fact that I am having some stitching issues after having them for less than 6 months and skating on them only 1-2 times per week. The stitching in the tendon guard on the left skate and the stitching near the right skate bottom eyelet. It wouldn't be so bothersome to me if I didn't spend almost $1k on them . It's my first pair of CCM skates since I started playing 27 years ago, I have to say I am disappointed, as I never saw QC issues on any Bauer skates I used (3000, 4000, Comp, One95). -
Hey, thanks man!

I got these new NYI Stadium Series team stock AX1's off Sideline Sports on Tuesday for $120, and what made it even better was that the seller was right up the freeway from me and I got them the next day. Really happy with this find, I am in love with the colorways.

To me they feel pitched forward a bit... And I'm coming from an old NBH One95 boot.

CCM Super Tacks Skate Initial Thoughts
Fletch replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
After 4 skates, 2 bakes and 2 punches on my Super Tacks, I've now at the point where they feel perfect on my (franken)feet. These are honestly the best skates I've ever owned and it's not even close. The funny thing is that the volume is so volatile (for me), that even a change in socks made a huge difference. The magic formula for me was Superfeet Carbon and Warrior skate socks, the non-cut resistant ones. Also, it's worth noting that waxed laces basically don't work at all with these skates (again, for me). I tried it before one of my skates and was almost unable to even lace them up due to how stiff the boot is and how little room in the top there was. -
You may end up dealing with swelling too, especially when trying to get your skate on. I had to tear out a huge chunk of my tongues because of the swelling. If I didn't do that, I couldn't put the skates on without considerable pain.
-
The money back guarantee is 90 days with the Super Tacks :)
-
I played on Friday night and I had the same pain in the same spot, on each foot. Got them baked again and a small punch on Saturday and skated yesterday. Pain was still there but was much less than before, so I took them back afterward and got another small punch to them and I think that will do the trick. The punching kinda scuff up the boot a little but I figured that would happen. It could have also been from the heat gun they used to heat a little before punching... not sure. Overall though, they are AMAZING skates... like you said, probably the best I have ever used. The difference in turning and explosiveness is very noticeable to me, as I was coming from older skates (NBH One95).

First skate went well, it's like night and day from my NBH One95's, especially when turning. I do have a couple hot spots that I need to address tomorrow at monkey. These skates can be punched, right? I need to do it to each instep, right where the bone hits. Also, I'm probably going to bake them one more time. Should I bake then punch or punch then bake?
