  1. I talked to the guys at Prosharp through YouTube and your right in your logic. They said they made the Quad 0.5 because people in North America are use to a single profile, so the Quad 0.5 was made to be less jarring for the North Amercian players that has never tried Quad Profiles before.
  2. I like the 'Coreshorts' garter belt system as you can put the jock where you like it and the compression shorts lock it in. Here is what the company wrote me when I emailed them: 'Good day Michael, As a matter of fact we do have a coreshorts hockey model with a jock insert. We have not released them yet on our site . The short runs $86.00 USD . If you decide you would like to order one, please let me know and i can have someone from our office reach out to get the necessary information. On our site there is a sizing chart . It is important to use that as a guide tool as the short should fit like a second skin. please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. happy holidays ross 226-927-3773 ross@coreshorts.com ' Hope that helps.
  3. I think both were top of the line back in the day and elbow pads have not really changed for at least the last seven years. So... go with the CL:)
  4. I went from the cheap Sheerwood which nearly got me killed, got a shoulder to the chest when my head was turned and was coughing for about six weeks after. Went to a JOFA which was a tank but way to bulky. Down to a CCM mid price point which was OK. Then I found the CCM CL shoulder pads and could not be happier, I don't even know they are on and they have saved me at least twice with no problem.
  5. I forgot one question. Do you like them? Why or why not?
  6. Weight? Is it so stiff that it digs into the leg to much? Does the rubber on the top help? Is the toe box too snug? Is the bottom of the boot thicker to provide a better anchor to mount the holder? What was it like before and after you heat molded it? Does heat molding it change the bottom of the boot also because it wraps 360? Would standing up during the heat mold destroy the skate? What does it smell like? (just kidding) Thanks.
  7. Would love any kind of feedback on the CCM AS3 Pro skate from someone that has it.
  8. That is funny because I'm a huge fan of step steel. First thing I though when I saw the AS3 Pro skate was "I thought they bought Step. Am I suppose to buy Step after paying $1300 total?..."
  9. I know they put in a few extra mm of padding on the AS3 Pro because of how stiff it is. I was wondering did they add the extra padding to the AS3 version as well? I'm looking at getting the AS3 but I know the carbon is not as stiff as the AS3 PROs'. Also while I have you here... Does the AS3 carbon wrap all the way around the bottom like the AS3 PROs'?
  10. So how long till CCM switches to the New Bauer fitting system? How many more years is the Ribcore going to be around for?
  11. You and just send the steel in the mail to get them profiled...
  12. Funny you should mention this but I wonder if the ice I was playing on was harder than normal. Maybe that was what I was noticing...
  13. Ya I hit that tipping point alright. Just the left skate. Now I have every trick in the book to give the left skate more volume. Pads as described, changing the way I lace them up, even added a plastic extension piece for more forward flex etc. Now my left boot is... "perfect"? LOL.... Right boot is fine BTW...
  14. 75 flex sticks. I wanted to be like Kessel:(
  15. They have Velcro. Not sure what you mean. The Velcro stops them from shifting and since your tendon is in the middle it is basically locked in once laced up. They are pretty thick gel pads as well. Once you cut out the middle part it gives a lot of room for the tendon. Once you have them set up they are just a part of your skate. Mine have stayed there for a few years now. Either way the Forsberg idea is the best solution for bad lace bite and this is the fastest way to deal it as it takes 1 minute to set up. Plus it works. Then you can add other things if it is really bad like including a gel pad on top of the tendon. So Forsberg and gel pad. If that doesn't fix it... Wow... I wish I knew what caused the lace bite in the first place. I was doing fine for a long time then bang hit me hard and fast and never really went away...
  16. Buy gel pad seen in pic below but cut the middle part out. The two side pieces have Velcro on the back and will stay there. BOOM. Forsberg pads for lazy people like me... It works. Your welcome.
  17. I'm 220lb and dropped to a 77 flex(p92 curve) just to try it out. It screwed up all my shots but the wrist shots were effortless. You might have a better result at 165lb
  18. I changed from a 11' profile to the Quad 0.5. Good to know about lasting longer... I do LOVE the glide I get from the 3/4, for three games I loved it. Then one game was more bumpy/physical than normal and I was getting knocked down more than normal... So I tried the 11/16 and am on the fence with them cause I loved the glide from the 3/4 so much...
  19. Do you have sharpen skates more often if they have a more shallow hollow? I went from a 5/8 to a more shallow 3/4 when I changed my profile to a Quad 0.5, normally I can go a long time between sharpens but now it seems I need to sharpen more often... I am going to a different guy to sharpen skates, that might be a reason also.
  20. I would pass out from heat stroke if I had to wear these...
  21. CCM CL shoulder pads. Top notch protection and you forget you have them on.
  22. I wear a cage and still have the SIDU in cause they are really comfortable. I do find they shrink like 1 mm when they cool down after molding, so it can make them really tight but... Best mouth guard I can find that I will actually use.
  23. So I have one extra set of Step steel for the LS2. So I'm going to get those profiled and put on... I wonder what the odds are that it will fix everything.
  24. Do holders just give out over time as well? I have a pair of Bauer One 100. I'm wondering if I should just buy new steel, new holder or just new skates....
