So July 15 has come and gone and no video showing the new holder and how it works....
-
Is the foam red or grey. If it's grey you can just pull it out. Even the red I don't think you need a Dremel. Can you post a pic or the size on the tongue? Never seen or heard of them putting the size on the tongue. Especially bc they are one size fits all.
-
The tongue or the footbed said 7? If you want more room, most trues have at least a thin piece of foam on the end of the toe box. But they are supposed to brush. As long as they pull away when you're in ur lunge stance you're fine.
-
Hmmm from the pics. I think I'll stick to warrior lids for now...
-
I would imagine it's an easy mod to put on. It was always Velcro though just a different way to secure the Velcro strip that attached to the tongue.
-
No not yet. Thought it would be quicker on here since

About my broken tab? Well I got my skate back and they pretty much just redid what I initially did by epoxying the Velcro to the underside of the toe box. Which was a waste of time if you ask me. Almost 4 weeks without the skate to have them do what I already did.... Four weeks for something that takes ten mins to do and a 24 hr cure at most What made it worse was when they told me it was likely the toe cap would be replaced, and my fitter removed the holder in anticipation of that. So now I have to go back to my fitter to have the holder reinstalled. I'm only inquiring about the bolt system bc I actually like it better and seems like a better solution long term. I'll leave the epoxy until it ( if it) ever starts to fail.

Anyone know what type of nut is on the underside of this. Is it just a t nut like the ones on our helmets? Also, is the thread the same?
-
I don't think any helmet out there will look "right" on his melon.

I wonder if you get to choose post July 15th... Or if they completely stopped producing the original

My buddy used the same two piece setup and went through two true blades, one broke on his first game and the other four games in. Definitely a manufacturing flaw. He uses Bauer now with no issues. On the topic of snugness. I also use the tape method but also do this; When you heat both the shaft and the blade they both expand. When u put the blade in a lot of excess glue is removed and when the stick and blade cools it'll leave some gaps. But if you heat only the shaft and allow the heat of the shaft to melt the glue on the hosel as you insert it, it won't take as much glue away since the hosel isn't expanded as well. Since the shaft is the only thing cooling and the hosel stays the same size, the shaft almost hugs the hosel as it cools.. alternatively, you can heat the shaft and use a lighter to heat only the glue on the hosel without actually heating the entire hosel area. Hope that made sense.

I've only used the true 5.2abp and it's nothing like a vapor. It is similar to the Nexus though but I could still tell the diff. The ht like of trues are supposed to be low kick and I haven't tried those so that could be comparable. I recently got a rekker ek365 and I love it. Got it for only 120ish cdn while on sale. Super light too at about 380 grams but we'll balanced. Rekker is listed as a low kick as well which is what the vapor lines are.

With their old steel it would literally Outlast the skates.....
-
Three weeks and counting.. Still haven't gotten my skates back 🙄
-
Also, their steel for the original holder was ridiculously tall. And it's quite a bit of weight that can be taken off just by reducing the steel a bit.
-
From pictures I've seen step is making the steel for the new holders. Below is the ig acct for pro skate corner. Some pics of the new tongue. Theres more pics floating out there on IG.

That's the thing. Are they really built to your foot? No one's been actually able to answer this question. If it's built for your foot there wouldn't be as many remakes and issues with volume. There is no way having the boot made around your actual foot last would result in a skate that's fit is so off it needed to be remade. My buddy who posted here has size 6.5 feet but in a eee width and very high instep. If the boot was built around his actual foot last there is no way his first pair would have resulted in a boot that had no where near the volume he needed. Failed the pencil test miserably. They remade it with a new scan etc and it came back better but still imo with not enough volume. I've never had volume issues bc I have a fairly standard 7d foot. And whatever fit issues I've had was easily fixed his additional baked it spot heating with a heat gun. I like true and imo it's the best fitting and feeling skate, but they seem to have a lot more limitations than they promote.
-
Getting info like how someone likes their skate length and overall volume wouldn't cause them to offer different variations. They would just increase or decrease their facings and or length of the skate... Unless they only can apply one size facing template per size skate which would make their skates not custom. They should be able to offer oversized toe caps etc if requested if they were truly "custom".
-
Regarding the could issue being preference. I agree but that's should be incorporated in the fitting/scanning. More questions for what the player prefers. Toes brushing or not. And how much room for pencil test etc. I guess the question regarding what make and model skate does somewhat cover the volume preference though... But just some food for thought.

Looks the same to me. Carbon fibre with resin.
-
You mean the holder? Only thing that looks kind of similar is the design around the vents of the holder seems similar to the xs/SB 4.0
-
Looks like the release system might be the blue part pushing in from side to side to lock/unlock?

The Eyelet Controversy: A Biomechanical Perspective
Sniper9 replied to VegasHockey's topic in General Hockey Discussions
They messed a few of those names up pretty good in the article 🤪 -
Do you know if the new carbon is already being used or is it specifically starting on orders mid July onwards (when they release the actual new features publicly).
