Caps win it 6-1

I know preseason means nothing, but for a team who (apart from ovey) last year stuggled both offensively and defensively this was a sign that they may at least be a little better

Goals from

Heward - PP

Zednik - EV

Green - PP

Sutherby - SH

Beech - PP (I still want them to waive him)

Bradley - EV (Omar, thats his second of the season)

Just saw the fight right now. It's on Headline sports for anyone who gets it.

It comes from a scrum and just kind've "happens" neither takes their own helmet off. Ovy looses, but isn't killed. He takes a cheapshot after they are split up a bit. Nothing huge, but punches over the linesman.

And Ovey said he wasnt going to fight because hes not an enforcer....I thought thats why they got Brashear...oh well, maybe Ovechkin and Malkin need to take some fighting lessons...and yes I understand how sometimes YOU have to fight the fight...Ive had a few to drink, so dont rip into me!

The Caps looked horrible on Saturday night.

If they were horrible Saturday they did a 180' last night. I was at the game and did they ever make Philly look bad. All the starters were in except Kapanen. Esche was the weak link letting in terrible soft goals, and terible positioning to the shooters.

Let's see how long the "youth" movement lasts in Philly.

Thats bradley, not a heavyweight, but a great character guy, who will drop them with anyone, which doesn't always work out for him, as you can see, but I like his attitude.

Fought Hatcher last night, and while I should have been watching, as B2 were meant to provide the coverage, then screwed up at the last minute, I could only hear him getting an ass whooping.

But, I will be there to see it at the mci center on friday, whoopteedoo

Wouldn't be the first time Richards left his lid on, although I would be interested to know if both went into this specific fight with the helmets on.

Richards always takes his helmet of when he fights. The only time he didn't last year was against the Ranger that ran Umberger into the boards from behind. He purposly left his helmet on since it was a cheap shot.
