I finally scored a mother pucking goal!

I made a topic here on Sept 27th 2006 HERE, saying I didn't think I would ever get a point.

Well, exactly 7 months to the day (4/27/7) I began a new league at the Capitals new practice facility.

First game was tonight. We were 2-1 up with 3.46 left in the second, I was playing left wing. Center went behind the net, I moved across to the front, puck came to me, I shot, hit the goalie on the left pad, skipped up, and behind him. He made another attempt to get it, but it squeezed in.

And that was it, my first ever goal of any kind in league play, ever.

And it wasn't a bounce of my arse, or a deflection of my leg, it was an honest to goodness shot that went in.

I would like to thank those who told me earlier that my blade would be cool enough to play with, and Chadd, for selling me the Black Beauty BB9 blade, as well as Buzz-Lightbeer for the old assed easton shaft it was put into.

I still remember my first league game goal..in my first league game. But that's not important.

Congrats, I remember my first goal.. It was in buzzer hockey and the other town didn't have a goalie that game so they used a shooter tutor! So my first goal wasn't even on a real goalie.

Way to go smoke! Congratulations. Of course now you'll be buying more and more sticks and blades and trying different curves and becomming a real gear whore because you are a bonafide point contrubutor now and you won't be able to let that feeling subside. Sorry... :D

I don't remember myself, but my son told me that after he made his first goal, others just seemed to open up. It's hard to rationalize, except maybe it is a new confidence to shoot. But I hope the point totals start to pile up for you now.

Congratulations, Allsmoke. The first goal is always great no matter who you are. I scored my first one from the edge of the blue paint but it's not my most memorable goal. That one was when I was fed a perfect pass from the corner to the slot where I was all alone. I put it top right corner beating the goalie's glove hand. I wish I had some more goal stories but I haven't reached the 10 goal mark yet.

I still remember mine, squirt year, I roofed a shot from the bottom of the circle...on my rear-end. Then got up and went ballistic :D

My first goal was in squirts, someone hit me in the cage with a puck, everyone froze and looked at me, the puck dropped at my skates and I took it in for an empty net goal against a team that was two years younger.

And my first recent goal was just a garbage goal I flipped over the goalie last year. Had a couple more, then I started getting some better shots and looks. But I've only had one goal in the last 8 games or so...

So yeah you start by taking out the trash and then work your way up from there :P

My first goal was U/15's and I intercepted a pass between D's on the centre line, cruised in on goal and scored top right corner. I remember it more for being in such a state of disbeleif that I scored, I forgot to stop and nearly went over the boards... LOL

Heh. My first goal was pitiful back in mini-mite. Final game of the season, other team pulled the goalie, and me and my teammate break in 2-0 on an empty net. He shoots it and hits the post, so I just kinda bump it in. Not quite the fanfare-filled event I imagined it would be. But I have the puck nevertheless.
