Vancounver plays too late at night for most people on the east coast to care about them.

I am not a Rangers fan and I hate Sean Avery, but I don't really care that the NHL is highlighting him. Like others have said, he is an interesting person. He reminds me of Matt Barnaby.

Miss Muzzy highlighted in a Habs website interview:

http://canadiens.nhl.com/team/app/?service...ge&id=20598

I don't get this though:

Who was your favorite NHLer to watch back then?

EC: You know, my favorite player was actually Joe Sakic, who wasn’t playing for Montreal, of course, but he was just amazing. He’s the one who sticks out in my mind as having impressed me the most.

Joe Sakic in Montreal? Did her muzzy get in the way and she didn't notice he was playing for Quebec and not Montreal? She's obviously just into hockey for the hot hockey players.

She is being interviewed by the Habs and she said her favorite player was Sakic, who WASN'T playing for Montreal, which is correct.

Are you saying Joe Sakic is hot?

The only reason she did the interview with the Habs is because she's going out with Mike Komosrick and the only reason she had kings season tix was because she was going out with Sean Avery.

I wonder if she'll pick up Predators season tix when she starts going out with jordin tootoo.

Wooops, didn't see the WASN'T. LOL - thanks for the catch. No, I'm saying she is just a dumb girl who likes to watch hockey because she probably likes the players and not the game. Lots of girls think like that. Alyssa Milano has dated hockey players...and baseball players...throw in a football player too if you want. Chicks just like athletes, but not necessarily the game was my point.

She dated Avery, 'nuff said.

Yeah I'd say she obviously has some clue what she's talking about at least. A bit off in that assumption. And honestly if you're going to talk dumb girls dating a hockey player for the sake of dating an athlete, bring up Mike Comrie's new fling.

Honestly, I tune in to Rangers games just to see if he'll stir shit up. Not the classiest guy, not the best player but you can't deny that he adds drama to the game.

What isn't so hot, what isn't so

G-rated, is what pops out of Rangers pest Sean Avery's pie-hole.

"He's got a pretty smart mouth," says Parros. "He's definitely not afraid to cross the line. That's why he has no respect from most of the guys in the league, including myself."

Says Mark Smith of Avery: "Verbal diarrhea."

I'm a lifelong Rangers fan. That said, it's hard not to "like" Avery cause honestly with him in the lineup, the team is statistically much better then without him. When he's not acting like a friggin idiot, he's busting his ass to make the right play.

The thing I cant really stand about him, is that he's constantly running into goalies. All his other antics I can chalk up to him being a "pest," but I'm very sick of him smashing into other teams goalies, or starting scuffles with them as if they're regular skaters.

I dont know why half the league hasn't flattened him cause of that nonsense alone. A real deal fighter should just grab him right from the faceoff and pound him if he takes a run at their goalie. IMO a coach should send someone after him the second he touches their goalie. Renney should tell him to cool it as well.

I'm also a die hard Shirts fan, but I disagree with you on some of this post. I understand why some people might not like Avery because of his antics. I disagree with you saying Renney should tell Avery to cool it. Aves doesn't hurt the team with his so-called "antics", but helps the team by bringing the crowd alive in the Garden. Should he not make contact with goalies, or start scuffles with them simply because of their postition? I call nonsense on that. Guys like Brodeur who shove Avery, then totally embellish a dead fish flop when they get shoved back? DiPietro initiates things as well, and to his credit he should. I enjoy players that play with passion and heart. Leaving players alone because they wear bigger shin pads is rediculous.

Guys have tried to take Avery to task. He doesn't back down. He will fight when necessary, but also knows when not to. I really hope he gets re-signed by Sather. I would really hate for him to go to another Eastern conference opponent and destroy the Rangers in the playoffs or stretch run.

describing playing in new york "better girls, better clothes, nice cars"

he sounds like a tool, if Sid was pulling those lines out I'd be right behind him but Avery is a standard player

anyone else here wonder what the hell the NHL marketing dept actually does all day?

I agree. I think it is a mistake to highlight a player that most fans and players don't respect. There are plenty of other players to highlight.

In their defence, it's hard to market NHL players when a lot of them are farm kids and that's not going to appeal to anyone. Pieces of shit Players like Avery get people's attention for being brash. Granted he doesn't deserve to be brash, but he's trying at least. I think he was interviewed in Maxim and I bet that piece was read by tens of people.

Hah, that line doesn't make you sound like a tool or anything. People are just mad that the dog that came out of L.A. actually turned out to have some skill in NY.
