JR Boucicaut

Another gem from JR's custom shop

Recommended Posts

They really do fit like a glove. I was wearing them in my house for about a half hour last night. I love Kor skates, but the Shift 2 had too much volume for me and was too wide, especially on the right foot.

Total cost was $750 and I got them from JR. As most of you know, he knows this process like the back of his hand. He knows EXACTLY what to do and answered all my questions.

JR measured me for a pair too. He suggested the same modifications like double stitching, felt tounge (sans flop), reinforced eyelets. I will be ordering them as soon as my custom pro s15's start to go bad on me. Only problem....one I never expected...is that my s15's look and feel like they are practically new!!! Got them in August, and they look and feel 95% new. So it looks as if I will be waiting a while for the one95's. Who would have thought.....I am having a problem with my s15's being TOO durable! LOL

Looks by the pics it has LS2.1 Power runners, what runners did your Kor 2's have? because I found it hard to get used to the longer runner and radius of 11' - So I swapped out the LS2.1 Power runners for regular LS2's from my XXV's....Just curious what your used to skating on, because LS2's are radius of 9' -- sometimes "small changes brings radical happiness", sorry I meant to say, "small adjustments bring radical change"

Those look real nice, I'm loving the felt tongue. I'm looking into one75's and I'm really not a fan of that new style tongue, also it seems as if my right foot fits into the 1/2 size smaller skate a little better as well but unfortunately for me a custom skate just isn't worth it (wish I was still young and playing heavily so I could justify it, but for now I'll just have to be envious of guys like you  )

Also, I just ordered some Step Velocity steel from No-icing so those should be pretty sweet. I'll also probably pop in the superfeet grey footbeds from my Kors. They seem to fit just right.

NOOB question here... what is the difference between the one90 and one95??

I don't know the technical details but the one90 was last years top end skate and the one95 is this years top end skate (in the Supreme line), this years one75 is last years one90 but with an updated heel which is supposed to take care of the issues the one90 had w/ the heel. Again I don't know the technical aspect of that but I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable members an chime in or point you (and me) in the right direction.

Excellent question... I was used to 263MM on my Kors and didn't want to go to 254MM. The guys at Bauer said the 263 would fit but might overhang. From what I can tell it looks perfect fit, but they may have ground off some excess plastic, I don't know for sure.

I had told John that we could've gone 254 LS2.1 which would essentially be a 263 but he had mentioned he was going to get Step Steel, so we just bumped up to 263. I haven't seen the skate, but 263 should fit pretty close, without the need to grind the edge of the holder. I've put 2 sizes up on skates before.

Fatwabbit - they will do undrilled.

We did do a bit more than just order options - he needed some widening as well. I can't remember everything that we did - I did three skate fittings that day LOL...

When I saw them I thought they looked like they were a size up in the quarters(in the 3rd pic) but I can't really tell whether it's the angle.

They some sexy skates!

Stole the words right out of my mouth. I don't plan on letting my fiancee know, but in September, I'm seriously considering some custom One95's with my wedding bounty. haha...

Right, sorry didn't think to mention, but JR of course measured me up nicely and had to mark at least 3-4 places where they needed to change the boot width. I believe that my right foot has more volume than my left, so that's accounted for. Also, my right skate is a half size smaller than the left.

Of course a big thanks goes out to MSH in general... It would have been so much harder to learn what I needed to know without this site.

Dammit... I think the next pair I get is going to be custom

What material did they use for the heel lifts? I'm looking at mounting some inline chassis and want to add a proper heel lift.
