JR Boucicaut

Another gem from JR's custom shop

Recommended Posts

I have two different sized One95 skates. One is size 7 and the other is 6.5. I switched the holder on the 6.5 and it fits nicely on the boot. Guess I got away with it cause it's only a half size difference.

I'm only doing skates for friends at this point.

Until I find a way to make $ on my services, I won't.

Actually, I have a plan that would work for remote fit custom skates and I could have the location anywhere really. Problem is, I would have mfgrs to open me just for custom product. But, really haven't looked into it/pursued it, and the question really begs, is it worth it? Not that many people get custom skates.

That is true, and this method would work pretty well IMO. The good thing is that there's not a lot of overhead as everything is made to order. Regardless, eh, who knows.

JR's Parking Garage Skate Shop. :)

BTW, was the skate not wide enough to accommodate the larger holder? I would have guessed he was a C/AA in one95s with those narrow feet.

I'm very happy with then. I just need to get them baked. Thanks again JR!

I think the 288s would have been too long for the left skate.

Well, a lot of it had to do with the fact that it was essentially drop-shipped (from the store to Brian).

If I would have been handling the skate, I could have removed the holder and shaved it down to fit. But, I thought about the 2.1 and figured it would work.

Need to get them profiled evenly though.

Exactly, if you already own the damned Blackstone, you most likely have zero or a small amount of overhead. Do you have the luxury of building up your business over time whilst working somewhere else like the Lightning? There ar ea lot of people in Florida with money, yet no real access to a pro shop that can and will fit them properly.
