Warrior "the stroker"

Recommended Posts

Here's a serious question: what would it take from them for you guys to take them seriously? I'm curious.

I already do. I liked Innovative sticks and I'll probably end up with a Warrior shaft in the near future.

To me Warrior = Cisco. A company is not required to be innovative on its own if it can purchase innovative companies. There is nothing wrong with this business model.

The Warrior marketing turns me off, but if I claim I won't let good marketing impact my purchasing, why should bad marketing impact my purchasing?

i heard a rumor a long long time ago, (from someone i'll say is fairly reliable) that warrior was kicking around a few in house skate design ideas. Then i didnt hear anything. Dunno if they've been working on that or what.

Man Cisco Red f'd my world up once. I was literally twitching.

My boy threw up once so bad on Cisco that whenever he saw a Sysco truck he'd gag.

That's why they call it "Liquid Crack."

If the model works for Microsoft then it can work for anyone.

Not a fan of their marketing at all. I think it's stupid and well childish. To me the Johnson stick and Stroker gloves are a joke. I'd probably laugh at the sales person if they showed me either of the two.

That said, I've been quite happy with the Warrior sticks and blades I've bought. I wouldn't hesitate to change to another company if Warrior no longer offered the pattern I like.

Your comparison isn't accurate.

Innovative wasn't actually very innovative at the point warrior bought them.

The only thing innovative about MIA was the stripe they put on their Eagle copies.

I absolutely loathe their marketing and branding. But what the heck am I supposed to do, nobody else sells a (close to) 4 lie pattern anymore.

On a good day I would call their branding immature, and most of the time I would just find it insulting to even my low intelligence.

Maybe they should switch markets and just start making bongs and be done with it.

The whole hipster-doofus-pronstar angle is so '94

Maybe replace 'innovative' with 'high performing' and it works better.

I agree 100% with Neal, I try not to let marketing good or bad influence my decisions, and the one and only Warrior product I've used (dolo) has been fantastic. You can debate a lot of things about MIA gloves, but I think almost everyone can agree they are at least a solid product.

That said, the marketing at Warrior IS amazingly stupid and getting a lot worse. The whole AK27 thing was pretty cool, I liked how they kind of branded Kovy as a bit of a playboy (the airplane picture I thought was cool), but this whole pornstar thing is just way out of left field. I'd honestly like to sit down with whoever is running their marketing department just to figure out what in the hell they are thinking with some of this stuff.

Innovative sticks weren't "high performing", they were over-rated largely because of their lack of availability. As for MIA, gloves can't be "high performing", whatever that actually means. Again, high cost and limited availability helped them achieve boutique status.

I think I just realized who runs their marketing dept. Pauly Shore.

No way, they would have come out with some kind of product known as "the weasel" by now.

2 weeks ago i was in montreal and the tourney i was at was hosted by warrior and they had a stand where u could try on some of their gloves and they had the stroker there. along the pinky finger it had 1st stroke of 250 stamped on it (guessing that they r only making 250 of them). the glove was pretty flashy and didnt look bad at all

Great tourney, too bad the place is crawling with Warrior pushers. I mean, hell, when you arrive in the locker room for your first game you all get Warrior Players Club lids.
