Anybody else had a 5 minute major for something other then fighting yet?

Also is there any end of season attributes change, or is the only way to improve your player by the tedious points system?

I had a hat trick and assist in a 5-2 win and got demoted back to the 2nd line, again. WTF.

To follow it up, 2 games later I had a hat trick and 5 assists in an 8-1 win but still got kept on the 2nd line. Weak!

So the rumor is the 3rd Jerseys code will be released at the start of the season ,the start of season oversees is this today , wil it be released today or on the 9th the official start to the season

You get a big block of points for how well you did with your season goals, but it's about enough for 2 ticks per category after it gets spread out (for getting all A+). That happens at the end of the last game of both leagues' reg. season. You also get points for trophies won, and your part in the playoff run.

This contract thing pisses me off. I thought you could determine your asking price and negotiate terms. I simmed through and had 4 offers for 3 years at just over 2mil, took the wings, go picked up on waivers by chicago, shut the game off not having saved. I'm about to play Toronto in the cup finals of my first season. Lame as hell, the sim system in this sucks.

On a different note i keep reading about you guys simming seasons and what not. Im just wondering how that can be fun, as it kind of defeats the purpose of the game (i see it as buying it and not playing it). Can any of you provide any insight as to why you would sim? Or maybe your just bored, which i completely understand.

for me when i sim i either do cause i want to advance in the season , or to reach the playoffs ( hasn't happend for me yet) my first season i simmed so i could get out of the kings organization

I was simming just to see what happened. I didn't save, I like playing every game. In two seasons I was 3rd line in Chicago's AHL team, and just about every team shuffled their top talent around. Atlanta won the cup 2 years in a row with Kovalchuk, Koivu and Kovalev on their roster (Alphabetical sort maybe?). Detroit let Filppula, Zetterberg and Lidstrom go/traded and Chelios, Draper, Maltby, and McCarty retired after the first season.

It's not too fun playing for a new team and you end up being the only name you recognize on the roster. EA needs to buckle this shit down.

I tried simming my second season. The Leafs picked up Smyth and E Staal in the off season, and traded me to Montreal. I refused to play for them and simmed, and got picked up on waivers by Carolina. Talk about the ultimate do not save situation.

Playing is tedious as hell and not always fun, so I just simmed out of bored to see what would happen. I realised that the sim system sucks (in my experience with it) and that if I leave it up to the sim, I'll never escape being a third liner in the minors. Even if I've lead the team in goals numerous times.

Signed a one-year - one way with Colorado for 1.175 million. Colorado traded Sakic to Toronto and made Wojetk Wolski captain. Should be any interesteng season. I am hoping to play on atleast twenty teams in my career!

When on a 1on 2 get behind the defenceman wide, deke as if your going behind the net , then cut to the front , top corner backhand side if your a righthanded shot

I use d-men as a screen and wrist it between their legs. That works fairly well, but the one that's obscenely successful is one I'm trying not to do. RH/RW and I come down RW, fake a shot to get a d-man to stop, cut around him and go in on net. Deke to the backhand then pull it back and wrist it top-shelf shortside.

As a LW right handed shot cut infront of the D around the hash marks and keep going until you've just past parrallel with the goalie and then shoot top left, only way I can really score 'cept for the odd 5 hole or tap in.

I got this move where I deke the goalie, and wait till he does a desperate save, then go around the net and try and slide it in, it works maybe 50% of the time.

one thats had odd success is RH coming down the LW cutting towards the middle around the top of the circles, wrister (or slapper if you have time/room) short side low.

my game is officially screwed

after winning the cup with the caps i saved on june 30. Signed with Vancouver, didn't like how Salo and Ohlund were on the Moose so I decided to screw up the season for fun. Got traded back to the Caps, put on waivers and picked up by Pens and put on Wilkes-Barre. After they named me captain of Scranton ( don't know why, I'm on the 3rd line doing nothing just because I'm simming everything to see how bad I can mess it up) I have to subconsciously save it. Now I'm stuck here and I guess I gotta work my way back up and try and get myself traded again. Bah!

From what I hear though, it doesn't even matter how well you're playing, if your GM is stupid enough to take a deal that he thinks is good he'll trade you.

Same thing happened to me. Won the Cup in my first year and all sorts of awards. In the off season they signed E Staal and Higgins (who they have as a C, and I thought he was a wing). Even though I started off as the first line center I had a 92 center on the 2nd line and an 88 on the 3rd (while I was a 79). I simmed literally two games and got traded to the Habs for Laraques. I refused to play for them so I simmed, got sent down and picked up by Carolina on waivers. I'm just glad I turned auto-save off so I can forget that nightmare.

I'm a LH shot playing RW.

I find just coming down the wing, go wide by the D man, cut like you are going to go behind the net, and just roof it short side just as you get to the goal line. The goalie will almost always go down and it's just a wide open net, they don't really have the angles down properly for the AI goaltending (in the AHL at least, I'm still down there after about 17 games and around 20 goals 6 or 7 assists).
